This came up in the AvP 2 thread so here, discus the flick here...

Me I loved it

I thought it was pretty cool. Embarrassing, though, I had a fit of involuntary dry-heaves when the chick was giving Jason mouth-to-mouth.:( Thank God I wasn't in a packed theater...

Pretty bad horror film.

However, Freddy vs. Jason was the whole point of the film, and what we waited to see, and it was great.
Of course, Freddy whooped Jason's ass, big time.

I don't remember that part.

It's takes place in the van when the kids are heading towards Crystal Lake.

(feels dumb for knowing this. :o)

oh yeah...now I remember. the kids and the jay-wannabe drugged jason and kidnapped him so he can fight freddy and be the good guy.

thanks for reminding me how lame this movie was.

I liked this movie in it's own stupid way.

^ LOL

Ronny Yu is a great director and I think he brought the best of both franchises out in this movie. And like someone said, it was Freddy v.s. Jason and thats exactly what we got. Them beating the crap out of each other and killing teens.

I would like to hear how the folks who didnt like it would have done it. (Not being a jerk I would honestly like to hear it.)

I enjoyed it,but I agree it shoulda been darker. And when did Freddy kick JAson's ass?In the dream part, but that was to be expected.

The ending was the best part. And I realize most smartasses say that to be funny, but I am serious. Jason coming out of the lake with Freddy's head was awsome.

It was a plot hole, too.
Freddy can't wink at you, beheaded. At least, he can't do that in the real world.

In the dream, and during most of the finale.
Jason got some really good licks in, but for the most part, Freddy whooped his ass. Especially when he sliced off Jason's fingers, grabbed the machete, and started chopping his ass away with the razor glove/machete combo. Laurie was the only reason why Freddy's ass lost.

:o

Anytime.

Anyone ever told you that kid in your avatar looks like a 7 year old Dolph Lundgren?

But back to this film, I've seen worse but this film was a big letdown.

The girl that plays Laurie couldn't act her way out of wet paper bag along with pretty much the rest of the cast, but jesus she made me wince she was so bad. Why the hell is Freddy kicking Jason's ass in the real world? and suddenly seems to be trained in Martial Arts. I guess i hadn't realized he was squeezing this training in while he was searching for someone to get him out of Hell.

The number one and possibly only bad ass moment in that film is when Freddy first enters the real world only to realize Jason is coming for him from behind and starts to own his ass. The music helped that scene be as cool as it was.

It was a horrible movie and thanks for another lame thread. As for a sequel to this...NO.

It was a fun movie to watch and nothing else... It did't try to be anything else either.

It was fun, the fight was awesome. It was pretty much what I expected from combining to two franchises. A severely lame story line wrapped around good kills and 2 good fight scenes.

It was EPIC!! :oldrazz:

Man, I loved this film when it came out, it was a huge thing between me and a few friends because we had a tradition of watching at least 1 movie from the franchises every Halloween and we slowly saw them all (Yep, even the god awful Friday sequels). I think between us it was split down the middle 2 of us for Freddy the other 2 for Jason. We watched the phony weigh-in on the net night before the movie came out and got seriously hyped.

So yeah it was a pretty big event amongst horror fans, and to be honest, i wasn't expecting a horror flick, i was expecting ultra-violent no holds barred ass-kicking, granted we had to sit through some bollocks about Laurie and her mother but it was well worth the fights toward the end. Freddy opened up the proverbial can of whoop-ass on Vorhees, I mean, the man was elbow dropping, it just doesn't get more badass :woot:

Anyone who went into the film expecting it to be anything but a novelty film, I'm sorry, but you're ******ed. If you expected it to be some frightening, chilling, new classic horror film, I'm sorry but I have to laugh. Both characters had already become parodies in their repsective franchises, so the only thing this film needed to be, for me anyway, was just a fun and gory romp, and that's exactly what it was. Freddy hasn't "scared" me since his second film (which I actually find rather underrated), and Jason had just become an excuse to see boobings.

I liked it

what anyone else was expecting from the movie was beyond me

AVP is a little different just cause they both came from action backgrounds, where as if you pit two horror icon's against each other I don't see how the action would quite play out that well

I do wish it was more of a horror movie than an action movie

in saying that decent flick that stands proud along side the top 2-3 in each franchise I would think

I really think the Ash idea would work great for this franchise, the zainy area they put these two characters in, and freddy and Ash could spar one liners at each other

I don't know if it tried to out do the older Freddy or Jason films, but if it did, it failed. It was better than the later films of both series, but thats about it.
