Will this be Ryan Reynolds' first comic book film not to receive a rotten rating?

Discuss.

Honestly these days if a cbm film has an RT score of 70%+ its enjoyable to watch, anything more is a bonus of quality

Well lets hope so, Reynolds does not have a great track record but hopefully this goes against his trend. I think some will be turned off by the character himself and how "immature" some of the humor might be judging by a few reactions to the trailer but hopefully that is only a minority of people that the full filme doesnt work for.

Just because I love what I have seen so far I dont think everyone is convinced (mind you no film ever as universal praise). I hope something in the 75-85% range would be something this film achieves.

I think the movie will be well made for what it is, but while it's rated R it's not exactly a mature film in the humor, and that might turn some people off.

Then again, the RT rating means very little. Reviewers are interesting when you find people that have a similar taste to you, or that explain themselves in a way that you can draw good conclusions from it. A consensus among reviewers doesn't really matter though, just as consensus opinions about subjective things in general.

In this age, RT rating means a lot especially to the avid movie goers who checks RT regularly.

The script definitely made for fresh rating. Let's see if Tim Miller is up to the task. So far it seems like he is.

I expect Kingsman and Kick-Ass ratings at best tbh. So 70-76%. Anything more would be a bonus. The crude R humor and violence mixed with the **** you attitude will not mash with a certain group of critics. Just the way it is.

This is gonna be an audience pleaser more so then a critic one.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say 91% - Guardians of the Galaxy level praise.

I think LucDisfilm19 may be right. 13 fresh and 0 rotten so far! People are loving it! :D

Wow, 100%. It'll definitely drop but that's impressive.

Yeah, I know it'll drop, but I'm happy to see it start out so strong.

I just like that one of these reviews is not like the others:

Anarchic, outrageous and filthily funny, this tongue-in-cheek X-Men movie tears up the superhero rulebook from within.

In its foul-mouthed, aggressively violent way, "Deadpool" proves to be nasty fun, casting a snotty Ryan Reynolds as a vengeance-seeking jerk who may have mutant powers but never acquired the stoicism or valor of the X-Men.

With Fox's Deadpool movie, a new superhero icon has been born, and he just tea-bagged us all.

The most romantic Marvel film since Steve Rogers first wooed Peggy Carter.

:p

Lol I noticed that. I've seen more than one reviewer mistake this for a Marvel film, most notably the Verge. They had to go back and edit the review in light of it not being a real Marvel movie.
That being said, this review made me laugh:
I'll just marvel at the fact that Fox finally grew the jooblies to let this film happen.

21 fresh, 0 rotten thus far. Adding up to a 7,8.
Also 11 positive, 4 mixed and 1 negative on metacritic with 65/100.

I couldn't help but grin at this line:
You know it’s an official Marvel entry because they’re allowed to say “mutants.” You know it’s Deadpool because they’re referred to as “****ing mutants.”

That almost reads like they are throwing shade at the MCU, but I don't think that's what they mean. :D

Faraci is going to give this a fresh review, even though he s**t on it for 90% of his review... What?

You can hate something, but still be honest about the fact that it's probably because of you and not about the movie. ;)

I'm so happy he gave it a fresh review, I'm stoke to see this movie on Thursday! :D

With so much crude humor I doubt this can stay over 80% but I'm hoping it can stay fresh.

The average rating is pretty encouraging. It will be fun to see where it goes.

Maybe fox wants that transformers crowd money :cwink:

Looks like Fox has thrown the glove down, they are making their claim for 'best received' cbm producing studio of 2016. Who knows, if they actually pull it off maybe people will let them hold onto dem rights just a bit longer.

I hope this does well. I have not seen as much passion shown for a comic book character from an actor, than I have from Ryan Reynolds towards Deadpool. He really has put a lot into this, into the actual movie, promoting it, and getting it made in the first place. If it does well, I will be very happy for him.

22 reviews and still 100%, its lit.

The number of positive reviews has made me excited, No doubt this movie gets an A Cinescore , and with such positive reviews not only may this movie open big, it may have some legs to make a decent profit. Hoping by next Tuesday or Wednesday Fox greenlights a Deadpool vs Wolverine movie..
