If there were a Razzies Award for music, which would win the Worst Song of the Year?

Willow Smith's song may be bizarre and nonsensical but at least the music video has some decent production value.

I'm voting for Willow Smith because she has more backing for her music career, so putting a stop to that is more important. Rebecca Black will probably die soon.

Yeah, I cant imagine anything good coming out of this for Rebecca.

Lets see. Willow Smith is about 10 years old. Rebecca Black is 13 and in eighth grade. I have no idea what her parents do for a living but one thing is clear: it must be nice to have rich parents. I know I was making music videos with rappers at their ages. Who didnt?

Ethiopians.

Honestly, this isn't even a contest. There is nothing redeeming about that Friday song. It's quite possibly the most terrible pop song I've ever heard, and has came close to making my ears bleed. It's instantly recognized as a travesty of epic proportions and that's why it has gotten its recent fame.

Conversely, while I'm not going to be buying any of Willow's songs anytime soon, at the very least she makes enjoyable and catchy dance songs/anthems. It's not inspiring but it doesn't have to be. Music can just be about having fun and making your body move. Clearly people have enjoyed the track considering its immense success. Nothing wrong with this facet of pop unless you're one of those elitist music snobs. Plus she's just a child, I'm really not about to admonish her for taking full advantage of her fortune and enjoying it for what it is.

Oh, and this.

Thank you Willow Smith, for this if nothing else.

They should both go away.

But I'm voting Willow because Big Willy keeps trying to shove his kids down our throats. Rebecca Black will go away, especially after this, but no matter how much the Smith kids keep pumping their garbage out, they'll just come up with new garbage to give the masses.

I just, for the first time, saw the Friday video and heard the song and OMG...

I don't care how annoying Whip My Hair is, Friday was just terrible, painful to listen to. And as far as videos go? Friday was abysmal.

It seems with Willow she's going the route of Will. Safe clean music. Not my cup of tea, but compared to the souless, rhythm-less, non-rhyming, boring lyrics (is she REALLY explaing to me that Saturday and Sunday come after Friday as if I need a calandar explained to me?) debacle of Friday, that Rebecca gal needs to quit. Now.

To compare honestly you have to hear and see it, so let the torture begin:

Whip My Hair

Friday

FYI I dislike Friday more.

However I wouldn't say either one needs to stop making music, they still both have lots of time to learn to make better music.

Whip My Hair is ridiculously catchy. Also, that song was released in late 2010. So, it won't be competing with Friday for worst in 2011.

No contest. Rebecca Black. Willow Smith's song is annoying but at least she can sing...somewhat.

I'm proud of the fact that I still haven't listen to either songs yet. :oldrazz:

I'm somewhat addicted to Whip My Hair.....it's catchy...

...Friday is garbage......I giggle watching those preteens pretend drive...

Both need to be stopped asap. Terrible. But yes I'm voting Willow because of the same reasons Super Ferret mentioned. Rebecca might be forgotten but Willow will be supported.

There's no right answer here so i'm voting for.....

Well, the real question boils down to...

[YT]9FISHEO3gsM[/YT]
Bob Dylan

vs

[YT]KpxZwbPcA38[/YT]
Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen

I voted Willow Smith. Her song "Whip My Hair" makes me want to punch small puppies and kittens.

Rebecca Black because someone actually had the gall to tell an average suburban chick she could do something like this and actually become successful. There will be a myriad of clones now.

Didn't you know? Just about anyone can become a music artist these days. I just wish people would really think about what they're listening to, that way; this kind of music wouldn't be so popular.

I actually wrote a full blog on my bands Facebook page about how Friday is actually a cultural milestone...so I'll side with that.

Bottom line...13 year old Rebecca Black seems to have the EXACT same level of songwriting and vocal skills as 37 year old Will.i.am...he's considered a musical genius while she's considered a joke...and that is ridiculous.
