This is far beyond having "faith in and being proud of your product". This is where it goes from being a competing company to being a bunch of ****ing nega-PR. They constantly bring up how the PS2 has outsold the X360, and try to say it's being rejected. Well, guess what? The PS2 also outsold the PS3, so I guess it's being rejected as well.
No, this is called business suicide. Consumers today are more informed than consumers even 5 years ago, they're not going to blindly follow a company that says completely ******ed **** on a daily basis. Bad word of mouth is only going to make the ship sink faster, the last thing they want to do is get even more bad publicity. But, instead of thinking it out like a company that actually had a "better business model" and a "better machine", they're making sophomore mistakes. It's a wonder they've been in the business this long.
Lambasting a popular system is not going to get them any more buyers than it would without the PR. Frankly, many people who I used to know wanted a PS3 don't want to anymore because Sony's been acting like ********s. And they're not exactly forum-types. At some point it goes from hyping your product to just being big-headed, arrogant asshats.
