Marvel Animation Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man

The show is just "fine" to "okay " for my liking.

As I've said before, I prefer other animated Spiderman series such as Spectacular Spiderman and The 90s Animated Series.

There are some things I'm interested in such as Peter's dynamic with Harry and Norman in relation to his Spiderman identity.

But I'm not all that interested in Lincoln's life tbh , so , I've skipped through alot of his storylines and scenes.

I get they're making Nico basically " MJ, Michele " from the MCU films, and that's okay, but again, I don't find her all that interesting a character.

But I appreciate that there are several different gateways into the Spiderman story, and if it gets a kid into the character ,and they like it , then that's good.

This series is so so good. I’m really enjoying it.

I am very pleasantly surprised by this show. Its a lot more mature than the trailers and ads let on for this to me. I like how Lonnie Lincoln basically has his own parallel story to Peter's and quite honestly...I feel more invested in his story than Peter's.

I thought the first episode was stronger but the second episode was still really good and I’m looking forward to the rest of the season. I’m loving the animation for this series so far and the trailers didn’t do it justice. Feels like a comic brought to life.
as someone that hated the art going int the first episode but these two episodes sold me

Man, this show keeps on surprising me.

This is probably some of the best world building and character work and drama since and very reminiscent of Spectacular Spider-Man, which also had a similar method of Introducing characters/villains by slightly peppering them throughout episodes and hinting at their eventual fully realized personas. I am already so invested in this Peter Parker‘s struggle of just trying to figure out what kind of hero he needs to be and how to help everyone and balancing his superheroing with his normal life, it not always working out or messing things up, how it affects his relationships and connections with the people around him and how he tries to navigate that and get out of it. I really like how we get to see him make mistakes, learn from them and adapt

Surprisingly, probably the most violent Spider-Man cartoon we’ve had, well, ever. I know that Lonnie got stabbed by Mac in one of last weeks episodes, but I was not expecting full on on screen impalement, twice, three if you count that nightmare sequence. This show isn’t pulling any punches. His first major loss and the lowest that we’ve seen him so far in the show. If this isn’t even the worst that it’s going to get in terms of violence, I can’t even imagine how much more brutal it’s going to get in later seasons.

Also, I’m pretty much used to the animation at this point and don’t even really think about it because of how gripped I am by everything else. The fact, though, that even that itself has the potential to be refined later on has me even more looking forward to what comes next, this season and beyond.

Like I said in a previous post, if this show continues improving and iterating on itself, this could end up being a top Spider-Man cartoon. Probably second to SSM, but definitely a contender for top three. I don’t say that lightly. Still have the finale and future seasons, so maybe that could change, but these people working on the show really seem to know what they’re doing and where they’re heading with the story, so I have faith that this will keep stepping it up.

Who would’ve thought that one of the best surprises of 2024 and this year would’ve both been animated shows from Marvel Studios? If this is the kind of quality we can expect from this division of the MCU, sign me up!

The animation style has been the biggest area of entry for me.

I don't know what is that I'm very particular about CG animation. The CG animation in something like ReBoot or Beast Wars is probably very crude or primitive by comparison, but they both worked for me in the 1990s. I think the folks at Mainframe knew what they were doing back then using relatively new tech.

I think my problem with the way CG animation is applied now is its inconsistency and I see that in this show.

Just finished the whole thing. It was alright, 8/10. I do love what they set up tho and I can't wait for season 2

Dang I put off watching this show but I've been hearing a lot of good things. Maybe I'll try to binge it over the next few days.

This was a pleasant surprise. Its not Spectacular Spiderman level but it has the potential to be down the line.

I like Gwen design. I'm surprised she's not asian, black or an old man.
RDJ can't be everyone. :o

I finished it this weekend and overall enjoyed it. I was confused at first bc I though it would be a prequel series to Spidey in the MCU, but it was MCU adjacent as opposed to being in the same continuity. Im glad they limited the guest stars
I do feel the cast and characters were a bit lacking in terms of star quality but I do appreciate that htey managed to do more with some of the lesser known characters especially how many were reimagined.
