OK, well, this is long overdue as far as I'm concerned. I've read and read and read and read all sorts of write ups and such on modding and customizing. Just trying to learn the tricks of the trade since I wanna make custom figures. So, here's the kickoff. Not much of anything really, just a couple mods and work in progress (WIP) figure. Anyway, I'll try to update this thread as often as I can, hopefully I can keep a decent pace going. And hopefully I'll be able to upgrade my camera since these pics are blurry.

Here's a few pics of a mod I did to my Captain Britain. Along with my Captain Britain is Roughneck's Captain Britain to show the difference since its kinda small.

Using some Aves Apoxie Sculpt I took my Cap and filled in the peg hole of his head almost up to the bottom of the head. Once fully cured (24hr cure time on the Apoxie Sculpt) I drilled a new peg hole and set the head back onto his body. I did this because I really didn't like how he looks so hunched, as if his neck is missing. Also with the headset so low the jaw near the ear's restricted his side to side head movement which is now not nearly as restricted. To make Cap even a bit taller I swapped out his legs from the knee down with a spare ML Sinister but the lower legs and feet looked waaay to big so I put back his normal lower legs. I think he came out pretty good. First official mod I've done using Apoxie Sculpt. I cannot claim this idea as my own, I saw someone do it over at Fwoosh and it seemed a simple enough mod to start my use of the Apoxie Sculpt sculpting material.


Next is the WIP figure using the spare AOA Wolvie I have. This is another idea I saw at Fwoosh but being slightly ambitious I'm going to be making him even shorter than the one I saw on Fwoosh. He still has several parts where I'll be shortening him at.

He's going to be Puck from Alpha Flight. Oh, and the guy above, thats Modern Armor Iron Man. Sorry its so blurry, but I heated and popped his helmeted head off and put on the head from inside the HulkBuster Iron Man. Figured these guys were showing their mugs so why not Mr.Stark.

Here's a pic of the unmasked Face Off Cap, unmasked AXM Wolvie (which is Saint553's; he sent it to me to repair the knee) and last but not least IMO is my modded Modern Armor Iron Man with HulkBuster Iron Man Tony Stark head. Nothing but heat and pop with him, no Apoxie or anything.

Captain Britain looks a lot better now since the neck is longer.

Can't wait to see how Puck turns out. Just wondering though, how are you going to connect new hands? Right now the figure looks like it has round stumps, so what's the process you're going to use to fix that?

Iron Man looks good too. I think it'd also be a cool idea if you hollowed out the old head, so that he'd have a removable helmet.

Ncrawler: Well, he does have rounded stumps for his forearms for now, but of course thats temporary. I'm knocking out the kinks for his hands and should have them attached by days end. Once I get it done I'll let you guys know what I did. The thing is I don't want just a hinged wrist, it needs to turn aswell since the forearm cut joint will be gone. A good idea of what I wanna do to the wrist is make it similar to Bishop and Maestro's wrists. If you have those figs then you know what I mean.

Saint: The head can be put back onto HBIM but I won't be doing it since I have another HBIM coming eventually to replace mine. My HBIM is for another project. While I was removing the helmet and the inside computer boards and such from HBIM I got the idea at the spur of moment. I had the Stark head and other pieces in a ziplock bag to store in the fodder box when I looked at your unmasked AXM Wolvie on my shelf and said "hmmm.." I do have some things to say about it before anyone tries it. The peg holding Modern Iron Man's head is very very tight and there's a possibility of it getting ripped off if not careful. Once I heated the head of Modern IM enough I used a thin flathead screwdriver from my precision scredriver set to help wedge it out (think of using a crowbar to pry something open). Since the Modern IM peg is so thin the Stark head is kinda loose on it. What I'll be doing is modding the peg and the Modern IM helmeted head so that thet are easily interchangeable like Deadpool's heads. But for now he's gonna be like that until I knock out Puck.

Urich: Thanks for the compliment. Once I saw how it looked on Fwoosh I had to do it. Just glad it came out good.

SsM: Well, if you ever get spares (or you're willing to use the ones you have) just lemme know. I'd be willing to help.

spideyboy: Sounds good. Let me get through this one first, its been an experience, thats for sure.

Rough: I'll fix your Captain Britain aslong as thats what you really want. As for Alpha Flight I already had Guardian in mind. And c'mon bro, who do you think I was gonna offer up the Puck I'm making to?? The resident Canandian of course. But lemme see how good I do, its still to early to call.
