Hey, so it's been a while since I was last on the Hype, college and all that. But I figured I'd post these characters here. It's my vision of the future of the Marvel Universe. It focuses mainly on pre-existing heroes, the younger ones who are now all grown up. Additionally there's a batch of characters I made up as well. Feel free to post opinions. Also there are some events I will reference that happened in this history that sort of led to the transition from the old generation of heroes to the new ones. These events include The Doomsday Massacre The Titanus Assault and The Goblin War.

The Fantastic Four

Mr. Fantastic II/Franklin Richards: Though he doesn't possess his father's intellect, Franklin has gone on to inheret the mantle of Mr. Fantastic. Franklin's psionic powers have blossomed since his childhood providing him with immensely powerful telepathy, in addition to his reality warping abilities which he mainly utilizes for energy blasts due to the strain it puts on his mind. In his family's final battle with Dr. Doom during the Doomsday Massacre it was Franklin who finally killed the madman in an unintentional burst of psionic power. Since then he has taken to wearing Doom's cloak as a reminder of the incredible burden placed on his shoulders. He is a very meditative leader, always trying to keep his abilities in check. As a result he often seems somewhat distant from the rest of his team.

Lucy in the Sky/Karolina Dean: After the children of the Pride went their separate ways, Karolina and Xavin returned to the Skrull's homeplanet of Satriani to help defend it from the vengeful Titanus who had torn a swath of destruction through the already weakening Skrull empire. After receiving the Fantastic Four's assistance in the Titanus Assault, the couple accepted an offer to join the team, wishing to distance themselves from the highly corrupt Skrull Empire. Karolina has mastered her natural Majesdanian abilities and is more comfortable than ever with her alien heritage despite a public outbreak of anti-alien hysteria following the Titanus Assault.

Super-Skrull II/Xavin: After the children of the Pride went their separate ways, Karolina and Xavin returned to the Skrull's homeplanet of Satriani to help defend it from the vengeful Titanus who had torn a swath of destruction through the already weakening Skrull empire. During the Titanus Assault Kl'rt, the original Super-Skrull fell in battle and Xavin took up the coveted mantle. After returning to Earth as part of the Fantastic Four, Xavin has also taken up the role of the team's resident pilot and alien expert. In addition, out of devotion to Karolina, Xavin has put tremendous effort into remaining female, though from time to time in the heat of battle he will revert to his original male Skrull form. At times Xavin struggles to reconcile his brutal heritage with his more diplomatic nature. Additionally Xavin is a member of the loose-knit Skrull alliance known as the Skrull Kill Crew.

Zero-G/Alex Power: After a major falling out between the Power siblings and the dissolution of Power Pack, Alex struck out on his own as a superhero, encountering mild success as a member of Virginia's branch of the Initiative. After the Doomsday Massacre led to the downfall of the Initiative, Alex's childhood friend Franklin Richards invited him to join the new Fantastic Four. Despite his cockiness and explosive temper Alex has good intentions and is an all around hero, though he often butts heads with the team's advisor Johnny Storm and gets into brawls with Xavin, whose temper rivals his own.

Johnny Storm: When the original Fantastic Four retired after the Doomsday Massacre, Johnny chose to stay on as new team's advisor and helped his nephew organize his recruits. His heroing days behind him, Johnny helps with team logistics, training, and public relations.

The X-Men

Hellion/Julian Keller: Years of experience and battle-hardening have tamed Julian's arrogance and turned a reckless streak into fierce protectiveness of his friends and teammates. No event affected him more however than the death of Mercury, who was like a sister to him, during the Doomsday Massacre. After this tragedy Julian disappeared for a while. Not until the Goblin War did he reemerge, in fact it was his coming that was one of the key turning points in the war. But Julian is now a changed man, having experienced so much personal tragedy in his life he has truly come to grasp the price of being a mutant. Despite his non-leadership position on the team, many of the X-Men and the mutant community in general view Julian as a rallying point in desperate times and an inspiring hero.

Wolverine II/Laura Kinney: Abandoning the codename the Facility designated her, Laura took up the mantle of Wolverine after he went MIA along with most of the other senior X-Men in their final confrontation with Magneto. Despite her efforts, Laura has found it difficult to forget her dark past and create a new life for herself. After the mutual attraction had built up between them, Laura and Julian had a brief relationship before eventually falling apart. Though she's grown closer to her teammates, establishing a close friendship with Anole, she secretly fears that she will one day betray the X-Men as just a drop of trigger-scent could send her into a frenzy, and was thus predicted by Blindfold right before her death.

Prodigy/David Alleyne: Just because he's powerless doesn't mean he's any less of an X-Man. As the year's went on David trained under some of the elite warriors in the Marvel Universe including Wolverine, Nick Fury and Iron Fist. David equips himself with a personalized suit of tactical body armor, an array of pulse blasters, a katana, and his signature visor which relays him data directly from the mansion's computers as well as from Cerebra. An expert tactician, David has proven himself capable of co-leading the team with his wife Surge, and is additionally the resident pilot of the Blackbird, having studied under Cyclops. However, David secretly resents the fact that all of his teammates worry about his safety during battle and constantly go out of their way to protect him.

Surge/Noriko Ashida: Though she has gained much greater finite control over her powers, Noriko still has difficulty controlling her electrical intake and as a result has continued to wear her regulator gauntlets. Noriko has matured greatly going from a rebellious teen to a strong and steadfast leader. What she lacks in her husband's structured, tactical style, she makes up for in keen instincts, flexibility, and decisiveness, showing tremendous pressure under fire during the Doomsday Massacre. These skills coupled with her inherent unpredictability makes her one of the most difficult opponents to face in battle. Noriko however finds it a challenge to deal with the responsibility that comes with leadership, personally blaming herself for Mercury's death and additionally for the subsequent departure of Rockslide and Dust from the X-Men.

Anole/Victor Borkowski: Victor was a late addition to the team and for a while only served as a reserve member until the majority of the senior X-Men disappeared in battle with Magneto. Upon joining the upper ranks Victor took up a costume reminiscent of his mentor and friend Northstar. Additionally as Victor aged his appearance further mutated giving him scalier skin, fangs, and tough claws along with some reptillian senses and a more savage personality at times. Being a later addition, Victor constantly feels he needs to prove himself and likes to engage enemies who are out of his league, though sometimes he bites off more than he can chew. He's formed a close friendship with Wolverine and the two can frequently be found in fierce sparring matches in the Danger Room. Little does Victor know, Laura is engaging in these fights with him in the hopes that he will be the one who is able to defeat her should she ever turn against the team.

Armor/Hisako Ichiki: After her romp with the senior X-Men on the Breakworld, Hisako wanted no part of the X-Men, finding it too intense for her liking. Lost after her dream was shattered, Hisako burried herself in her studies, eventually earning a degree from Columbia University in law and political science, becoming a successful attorney. After hearing of the senior X-Men's disappearance she reluctantly accepted an invitation to rejoin the X-Men as she felt compelled to help out. Since she was never very close with any of the students at Xavier's, save Wing and Blindfold, Hisako often seems rather distant from her teammates. Hisako serves a double purpose at Xavier's as the team's resident muscle and as a political/legal liason for the X-Men and the mutant community at large.

Look for The Runaway Mutants next time.
