Anyone watched them? Just watched both today.

I liked the Hulu one more. It was more lighthearted which you have to be with a story as ridiculous as it is. But I did like how the Netflix one showed the struggles the workers, especially the Bahamians were going through because they weren't paid. The jokes were funny but people lost time and money to this nonsense.

Anyone else watch?

EDIT: GoFundMe for the Bahamian woman from the Netflix doc who used her own personal savings to pay some of her workers Click here to support Exuma Point- Fyre Fest Fiasco organized by Maryann Rolle

I watched the Netflix one, haven't watched the Hulu one yet.

I do wonder why they didn't go after Ja Rule more. I mean, McFarland is the clear criminal (even continuing crimes while on bail), but I think Ja Rule should have faced some more of the blowback.

Do you mean the filmmakers or in general? Because I'm curious why he hasn't been brought up on fraud charges. I know he's part of the class action lawsuit

I watched both and prefer the Netflix, because it goes WAY deeper into the attempted set-up of the festival itself, whereas Hulu was more about the influencers and McFarland himself.

I think the reason why Ja Rule escaped more criticism is that...he's just a celebrity that teamed up with a business. Like...if a perfume company contacts an actress to do a branded perfume, that actress isn't in a lab perfecting the scent. If it turns out to be poison, she didn't do that...she was just getting paid to slap her name on a product and then do some promo. While I'm sure that Ja had an inkling that things werent going well...he likely never did any of the financial stuff or had any clue about ticket packages etc.

I haven't gotten around to it yet, but they are VERY much on my watch list. Are they worth checking out?! I mean...they HAVE to be mildly entertaining simply because of the ridiculousness of the truth!

Yeah they're both worth checking out

Watched that Netflix Documentary on the Fyre Festival last night and was a fascinating watch. I dont know whats more disturbing, the fact that that guy attempted a scam of that scale or the fact that there are so many millenials out there who actually have thousands upon thousands of dollars to burn going to an event in the Bahamas like that.

Why is that disturbing?
