I am a huge fan of the movie, but I've only ever seen 4 episode of the cartoon, but I want to get into the G1 comics. I want to start with the Marvel comics, but I will only buy them if they come in Trade paperback. Can anybody tell me if there is a trade paperback for it, and if so, what is it called. Thanks.

I can give you a few links to some of the info your looking for but I dont know if they ever released the intire serries on Tradepaper back.A few of the original Marvel comics featured cross overs with other heroes from the Marvel Universe like Spiderman and since Marvel does not have the rights to reproduce Transformers storie any more I doubt that they would let someone else use the stories that have Marvel characters in them.

You should also know that Marvel ran Transformers G1 comics in both the U.S. and the U.K. Many of the U.K. stories were the same as the U.S. comics but over 160 new stories were produced for the U.K. comic.

These are from Marvel's U.S. G1 and G2 comic serries.

I have all of those and yes, the Titan U.S. reprints are the FULL ongoing, including the issue 3 guest-shot by Spidey. And this covers both G1 AND G2.

In fact, the only Marvel U.S. TF stories I don't think have been re-printed are: the original adaptation of the '86 movie (which is kind of a shame since as it was based on a not-quite-final draft of the script, we get to see Ultra Magnus drawn-and-quartered by the Sweeps on Junkion as opposed to the shoot-em-up that was in the film); the Marvel TF Universe mini-series (the original four profile books, akin to Dreamwave's More Than Meets The Eye books or IDW's Beast Wars Sourcebooks); the Headmasters four-issue mini; and the original Marvel G.I. JOE/TF crossover, which was garbage to start with and was only good for explaining why Bumblebee becomes Goldbug in the comics.

Incidentally, right now IDW is also reprinting Marvel U.K.'s Dinobots stories in monthly format; they also just did the same for Target 2006.

Thanks I wasnt sure.

Shame....but I still have my originals.

Your mistaken....Bumblebee became Goldbug in the Transformers G.I.Joe crossover in the U.S. comics.

But in the U.K. they had their own origin story for Goldbug.In a cross time traveling story arc called "Fallen Angel" Bumblebee was destroyed by Death'sHead and rebuilt into Goldbug by a timetraveling Wrec-gar.

the Marvel TF Universe mini-series (the original four profile books, akin to Dreamwave's More Than Meets The Eye books or IDW's Beast Wars Sourcebooks);

It was re-printed into paperback form back in 1987 but it only collected the origin 4 issues and none of the extra matiral that was running in the back of some of the later issues of the main tital.

Yeah I've been picking them up.

I've been doing some more research now that you've told me that Titan books published them, and I've got a new question now: If I wanted to start at the beginning (of the US series) would I get "Beginnings"?
Thanks.
