Some of those characters might still appear in a Gambit film... If it still happens.

seems legit to me, but it's clearly the josh zetumer script, which was scrapped

how is that clear?

It does sound like a thrilling xmen film, i think i'd willingly watch something like that.

Also, one of the rumored issues with the original was filming during an actual mardi gras that was gonna inflate the budget.

Rictor isn't even that noticeable in Logan. For most viewers, he was probably just a mutant kid.

Depends if they threw that script out or are still using it as a plot outline.

Rictor and Moonstar are included and they're now being used in other films.

If Rictor is a child in the future in "Logan", does this mean Gambit and the New Mutants would be set in the future?

How much communication do you think those involved with Gambit had with Mangold?

I am gonna guess and say very little to none.

Well, I noticed him in theaters. I ended up disappointed none of the other kids seemed to be comic character as far as I could tell.

But that hasn't stopped anyone before.

Gives them a chance to reuse Rictor later in a different way later on maybe.

I wouldn't be surprised.

I will also go ahead and say I am not sure Tatum's right for the role. There's an interview where he talks about Gambit sharing the same culture as him (with no further details about what that culture is) and about pretending to throw cards like him as a child. I just don't see a Gambit in him.

Also, none of these artists seem to read anything other than the script. Anything. Other than maybe a couple of cartoon episodes and Singer's films.

Tatum is my last choice for Gambit. I've been quietly hoping this takes so long that he bails. :(

You aren't part of the most viewers I was referring to. As I am sure you are aware who Rictor is.

i also don't like matt baumer for northstar. Northstar in general is an unlikely character to be featured in a fox film, but, if he were, I don't think Baumer's right for it. He's openly gay, but he's a bit touchy on the topic to me. And he's best known for playing straight men. They could easily use a straight actor. a bit younger too.

Would love to get people in who live and breathe these characters rather than turn up for a pay cheque.

I would have loved a hot and newcomer french actor that would become Gambit in the public's eye, rather than an overexposed Hollywood actor.

I know Gambit is not french, but in this case, would have been a better move, imo.

Wait, so Channing Tatum - who has been working to get Gambit onto the silver screen for awhile now despite a myriad of setbacks, whose family is from New Orleans, who unlike Ryan Reynolds, was actually into the X-Men as a kid - is not a guy who is into the material enough? You don’t have to like the guy, but come on now. Let’s not be ridiculous. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick didn’t know anything about DP until Ryan sought them out too.

The idea that you have to have been a fan as a kid among other things to know anything about these characters or be dedicated is ridiculous.

Regardless whether its Channing or another actor, I don't think this movie is getting made in the near future....

Fox probably has other priorities right now.

Well, truth be told, as long as Tatum is attached I can wait. :(

Oh you really don't like him lol.

What did you think of Taylor Kitsch?

Loved him. :D But I wouldn't mind seeing someone new step in if they were good.

Yeah I thought he was decent. Shame he didn't get a chance to do it properly in a longer role.
