Sequels "Gambit" starring Channing Tatum? - Part 4

I remember reading in 2009 that they wanted sawyer from lost to portray the charaxt r alongside Anna paquin which would’ve been a match made in heaven. I don’t remember hearing about Tatum until 2015 or so

I’m still neutral on Tatum. My question is would marcel have considered him

I’m sorry, it wasn’t the first X-Men movie, it was Last Stand.

It’s a long article, but near the end of article.
There is another article where he goes in more detail, I’m still searching for it.

I remember something, I think they offered Josh Holloway the role for X3, but he declined. and if Im not wrong, Fox offered Tatum the role for Origins too, but he couldnt do it, for schedule reasons. So if that is right, Fox offered Tatum Gambit twice. well.... Lauren more than likely. I guess Lauren convinced Fox and the other producers, tho it didnt work out for those two movies.

Tatum couldn’t do Last Stand nor Origins because of scheduling. Now he up for the third time and that is proving to be difficult as well.

yeah, which makes us think that maybe the universe is doing all it can to prevent him to play Gambit.
Its very interesting, to say the least.

Tatum was 25 back in 2005. He's pushing 40 now and has likely aged himself out of the role. Even if the Gambit film is canned, he isnt likely to be hired by Marvel to play the character

Gambit was not in Singer's mind when he was doing X-men back in 2000, and certainly not to be played by Tatum...

For X2, Singer was close to including a quick Gambit cameo played by Wolverine stunt double James Bamford (I can't believe I still remember his name). Cameo was supposedly shot, with the actor being on set for only a day. Not sure what happened to the footage.

Tatum is one of the main producer on Gambit, they would have to pay him a lot of money to buy him out.
Or he can stay on as the producer and give him a older part, like Sinister.

Disney is about to purchase Fox for $71 billion. I could be wrong, but something tells me they can afford to buy Tatum out

Tatum is completely replaceable.

Disney and Tatum wins.

If this movie is ever made, I know James Gunn won’t be directing it. HA HA HA

I like the idea of Tatum as Gambit, but him as Sinister? Hell to the **** naw.

I liked the Gambit heist movie synopsis that was floating around here. One thing's for sure, Fox was getting creative with the genres.

I like Tatum as neither Gambit nor Sinister.

Get Taylor back, he had the perfect look

Gambit has a better chance with Disney/Marvel than Fox. Here’s why:

It’s all about personal relationship in Hollywood.
Alan Horn is the Chairman of Walt Disney Studios. He is the father of Cody Horn, who was the lead female in Magic Mike. Cody is engaged to Reid Carolin.
Carolin is Tatum’s producing partner and the writer of Gambit.
When Disney takeover they will find room for Gambit.

You should've led with that.

Just watch Kinberg do some random interview on the redcarpet in October claiming the movie is still being made and how fun the new script is.

I’m not sute any of these actors would have the right physique, face or personality for a gambit role

It’s almost a captain jack sparrow type of role, you’d need someone that talented and sexy

I think Liam Hemsworth has more potential for Cyclops. He has a rugged look that'd be good even for a Sabretooth. And if he had the balls for it, Northstar.

Taylor sucked as Gambit. The studio has never consider hiring him again for that role. He only got the part because Tatum was busy at that time.
That doesn’t mean I’m on the Tatum bandwagon, but I have no problem with him playing Gambit.
