Gambit's Powahs?!

That's pretty impressive. I wonder if they'll keep a realistic spin or try to make them move in a straight line like in the books and cartoon? Probably with a spin.

Spinning, exploding, playing cards. Like ninja stars. Now that sounds awesome. Picturing it making a fluttering sound as it's thrown just makes it even cooler.

Yeah, now that does sound pretty cool. Good idea.

Since it's a movie, you can bet the studio isn't going to pass up an opportunity for visual effects. When Gambit charges something, there's probably going to be an other worldly glow(similar to the first cover posted in the thread) added via CGI. They'll probably change it's color from magenta to purple or red though.

O rly? Remember what they did to Phoenix?

I've always imagined his charge sounding like sizzling bacon. I think it was described this way once. As for the visual effect, I think it should have a faint glow after being charged. Gambit has been known to use his power to produce light. I like the idea of a wavy gas like effect. The object shouldn't vibrate though. It just seems like that would through off his throwing.

You can guarantee the effects won't suit everyone. Why do I feel a Phoenix moment coming on!?

should different charged objects sound differently?

and should soft objects like cards gain mass when they are charged so they can stick into walls etc before they explode.

perhaps they can gain mass so he can throw them a greater distance or with more accuracy.

well, you can't please everyone.
maybe they can have bigger objects have more overlapping sound effects.
For example, they could have a card sound like one piece of bacon, while a good size rock sounds like many.

I always just figured the kinetic energy made it hot enough to burn things on impact and imbed itself. That and maybe it allows it to be thrown at quicker speeds. Like a boost...I am really pulling stuff out of my ass here. :p I just don't see how it would add weight to it is all.

My vote would be for the visible effect seen on the New Gambit pic (the one in the middle, first post). Though that's art and trying to translate that to live action is a right B*. Though I would like to hear the sound effect from the 90's cartoon.
