Why do you need proof in the finale? You and the rest of us already know he survives.
I already knew Cat survived as well, and that Stannis didn't burn his daughter. Or that Selmy was still alive.

No... No m'lord.. i just walk is all...

Better. To sound a proper peasant you must say it as though you had mud in your mouth, or were too stupid to realise it was two words, not just one. Your stench is quite appalling.

Yes, m'lord. forgive me. Lord Ramsay prefers me this way.

I knew the first Reek. He stank, though not for want of washing. I have never known a cleaner creature, truth be told. He bathed thrice a day and wore flowers in his hair as if he were a maiden. Once, when my second wife was still alive, he was caught stealing scent from her bedchamber. I had him whipped for that, a dozen lashes. Even his blood smelled wrong. The next year he tried it again. This time he drank the perfume and almost died of it.

I don't care who does it, I just want proof that Jon survives. They have done too many stupid things this season for me to trust them fully in this regard.

[BLACKOUT]Kit Harrington is signed on until Season 7.[/BLACKOUT] :cwink:

Plenty of people have been signed on for multiple seasons. Doesn't mean they will appear. People do realize this right?

None of those things are the same as killing the single central character that the Wall plot revolves around. None of the characters you mentioned were anywhere near as central to the plot as Jon. So you're being silly if you think D&D would even consider killing Jon permanently in season 5. He has about as much chance of being permanently killed in the finale as Dany does.

About all those people mentioned, Cat didn't survive in the books. Selmy likely dies in WOW, and Stannis may yet burn his daughter. Martin told D&D she is burned and D&D said the information was shocking so Stannis could be involved despite wanting to put her on the throne in ADWD. There are still two books to go, after all.

It's standard for most cable shows, and especially HBO, for all the key cast to sign on for 6-7 seasons. Ultimately it comes down to the showrunners and HBO if they want to utilize the actors for the extent.

How exactly is Stannis going to burn her in the books? They are no where near each other.

I think she will burn, but Stannis won't do it.

Considering who the publicised actors that signed onto Season 7 where originally contracted for 6 seasons. It's every obvious all of them are the ones who will be around for the end game.

And that can change at anytime. He can always end up back at the Wall. Hell for all you know he could send a raven telling Mel he needs R'hllor's help and orders her to be burnt out of desperation.

Martin also told Ian Mcelhinney that his role in the books was going to become a central one in the later installments, which was he was so upset when he found that they were killing him this season. He wrote them a letter and everything expressing how he felt it went against what George was doing, and why he ultimately said that people shouldn't read the books when watching the show. GRRM also recently said that people shouldn't expect the Night's King to appear in the books, and implied that what D&D are doing is akin to Peter Jackson using Azog as the physical antagonist for Hobbit films.

"Da books are Da books, and Da Show is the Show" as old Georgey would say.

He'll have his hands on someone else with King's blood currently.

I'm guessing Melissandre sees the pink letter and burns Shireen to bring back Stannis, but it ultimately has some kind of affect on Jon.

Oh I'm fully aware of all that.

I will say this though, the cast listings for season 5 featured Varamyr Six-Skins. So nows as good a time as any for that Warg element to be utilized.

I'm not sure Jon will warg in the finale, but I can see Varamyr being used to plant the idea of Jon warging into Ghost in Jon's and the viewer's heads. That way the viewers aren't left without any hope at all.

I think Jon coming back will mirror when Bran woke up in the second episode. The scene might even involve Bran.

I actually wouldn't mind if they have Bran/Bloodraven/The Children be the ones to resurrect his body in the show. At the same time, Bloodraven could possibly show him his origin.

I've been wondering if Bran might show up in the finale in some capacity. I wouldn't mind him being involved in the resurrection.

I agree with both of you, though because of this I think they will wait until next season to do it.

GRRM has made everyone wait since 2011. What's 11 months between seasons?

If Stannis is ever going to burn his own daughter, it's going to be a last resort againts the Others, but i think Melisandre/Selyse will just burn Shireen as it is predicted.

Thanks for telling! I had missed this. I hope we're going to see Bran the Builder in the books. ;)

Here's my thoughts about how this season could end: End it with you know who dying, cut it to black with us hearing the character's breathing and give a cliffhanger ending with the breathing stopping.

Things like the Cersei's trial by combat, a certain character's warging, etc. You can do those as a Season opener!

It *could* end with Varys going on his murderous rampage, though I feel like they may need to build Kevan up a little bit more for that, possible have it as the cliffhanger for Season 6 Episode 1.
