Game of Thrones General (Non-Book Related) Discussion Thread - Part 1

Counting down the minutes, just 245 minutes to go.:D

Sundays this year are just loaded now.
We have GoT S8, Killing Eve season 2 and A Discovery of Witches (new show).
At least FOX had the sense not to have new episodes of their animated series tonight.:cwink:

There's a 2 hour "Everything so far" which is really good on Sky Atlantic for anyone in the UK. Great way to get hyped and catch up and remember all the main events.

Super glad there hasn't been any leaks like last season.

Well, Dany's off to a great start making friends in Winterfell...

Also, during Sam's explanation, it's like you could see the gears slowly turning in Jon's mind as he started to regret those quickies with Dany...

I love Arya and Jon’s talk especially Arya’s retort about Jon not forgetting that he’s family.

That episode felt like it flew by fast. And I'm still just digesting things.

While I am personally disgusted with the whole thing, would it be that serious in this world? Wasn't Sansa going to marry her cousin Robbin?

Either way, it does seem like the show is slooowwwlly making Daenerys to be a bit of a villain. With Sam asking what Jon would have done with his family, and even Jorah is seeing the true chain of events everytime you kill someone, you turn one enemy into many because you will have family wanting to have vengeance, not to mention her sly remarks about Sansa not showing respect. Plus, Arya's quote to Jon about not forgetting his family, and that will be the ones he grew up with, not related to.

What is Arya’s weapon supposed to be?

Well all the reunion boxes were checked, only really big one left now is Tyrian and Jaime.

John dose not want power, or to rule over others, never did, never will, only as far as to protect others, and defending from the bigger threat will only ever be his goal.

He will likely sacrifice himself to see that done.
The women: Sansa and Danny (understandably) neiether of which will ever trust or allow themselves to be in a position where others can control or abuse them again, will have to come to terms with John's sacrifice, and make the peace with each other.

John's sacrifice is the only thing that will move to inspire that from them, he is already long dead, this is his fate.

Very good first episode back with a great ending. Only problem for me was that one horrible green screen of the dragons in front of Jon and Dany. It was brief but yeah didn’t look good IMO anyway.

Why's Drogon shooting Jon a look?

They already killed Jon once, they won't do it again. Daenery's will be the one who dies. It'd be too obvious for her to end up on the throne, and if she can't be on the throne then there's no reason for her to survive. I'm betting Sansa dies too. She's going to lose trust in Jon and will do something which will be seen as a betrayal to him and it will lead to her death.

Eh, I don't think Jon's resurrection keeps him safe. He was brought back to fulfill a purpose, even if that purpose ultimately kills him again.

He knows.

It would just be pointlessly redundant. He'll survive to humbly turn down the throne and pass it on to someone else.

But whatever, we'll all find out soon enough...
