This whole George W. Bush thing is just ****ing ridiculous.

**** sake, it's a prop head, it appeared on screen for about five seconds a YEAR ago and it was turned so that you could barely make out it's face. Get real... :o

Still dumb to court the controversy, though--what's the point? What does it accomplish?

Why is the media making a big deal about George Bush's head being put on a stake in season 1? They do realize it happened over a year ago and was a joke right?

And the fact that it barely looks like Bush, so much insanity in this world....its like the reign of king Aerys all over again :(

Tywin Lannister is a job creator. Just ask all the people who now have the jobs of the people he killed.

It's been that way since episode 1...you just figured that out 20 episodes in?

No it hasn't.

The problem isn't the number of episodes but that the show has Loads and Loads of Characters (particularly, main characters) to the point of absurdity. Because of this, each character can't have much screentime per episode.

This problem can be alleviated with more episodes.

Eh. I think it's working so far. I mean, I certainly think it can be done. Heroes did it well...to be fair it did it well for one season. (Well, maybe two, S4 wasn't that bad), but I think they're juggling the characters quite well. I enjoy it anways.

Also, I did start the first book, and even though I know what's going to happen (the series really did stay surprisingly accurate to the books) it's cool to get little tidbits about the history of the realm that you don't get in the series.

Heroes had a 23 episode first season, and a 25 episode third season. Of course they did it well. They had the requisite amount of episodes to giving every character their equal share.

It was less jumpy. But I find I don't mind the jumpy nature of S2. It really feels like the novel brought to life, and I enjoy that aspect of it. Also, I like it because it keeps me wanting to see more. I have favorite story lines, but I like each story line. And they all have a hook that keeps you wanting more before they cut to another story. I like that tatic.

The novels are ponderous, overly long, and have bad pacing. This is the complete opposite of the show.

Not at all since the problem I was describing is about the number of characters/locations needing to appear per episode. The only way to resolve this issue is to either cut down the number of locations (and characters) or to lengthen the run time of each episode. Increasing the number of episodes affects neither of these two variables.

I have no idea why this argument is still going, they're obviously not going to drastically change the format of the show.

Really when we get down to it, you have to ask yourself whether or not Dave and Dan succeeded in this endeavor or is the material impossible to make work on a TV medium?
