The only time I remember where Cersei might be naked is when the Baratheons visit Stark Castle.
But Daenerys and Khal Drogo are naked ALL THE TIME!

he is shirtless quite a bit though....the way they explained it is that when Drogo isn't riding he's usually naked or just wearing a skin

I just started reading the first book. This is the first project HBO has greenlit since the departure of Chris Albrecht that I'm uber-psyched for (though I am looking forward to the Scorsese show). Can't wait!

You're in for a treat. The first episode ends with the quote "the things I do for love..." I was hooked after that and read through the rest of the series as soon as I could.

Wow, just starting the series. I am so jealous of you. It's one of those things that the first read is such an amazing experience.

After reading the series (as it stands) so many times, the shocks and surprises don't pack the same punch, now for me it's the technical aspects of GRRM's writing (yeah, sue me a went to college for literature).

Ok, you guys just made me want to finish this book faster AND slow down to savor it. Stop making things difficult!

Seriously though, I am really looking forward to getting into this series, more than any series I've ever read, just because I've heard SUCH fantastic things. Right now I'm only about 45 pages in, so I literally just started, but I'm already enjoying it. These characters are all quite intriguing, and it's fun knowing from the start who's been cast in each role so that I can go ahead and picture them as I read.

I'm not familiar with the books, but I'd watch any fantasy story with Jennifer Ehle in it.

I always point out that though it's labeled as "fantasy" I feel it's a misnomer, I see it as "historical fiction." Though it doesn't take place in any real history it plays out like Europe before the battle of Agencourt, knights, kingdoms, castle intrigue.

Magic in that world is looked at the same way we look at magic, some think it's real, most don't, creatures of myth may have existed once but they don't anymore. There are 3 dragons but they are so far removed from the continent where most of the story takes place that most think of them as tall tales. The seasons last a really long times (winter's lasting whole lifetimes) but that's less magic and more the rotation of the planet I think, or that's how I see it since the characters themselves have about the same level of science that they did in Earth's middle ages.

I would say more but it would be spoilers. Think of it as The Tudors, only once in a while someone in court hears crazy stories about dragons in some continent far off (their equivalent of Africa).
