Sci-Fi Gareth Edwards's Jurassic World Rebirth

There's a theory out there that Jonathan Bailey's character in this is the grown up version of the "six foot turkey" kid from the dig site in the beginning of the original movie. Mind you, this is not the first time this theory has floated around because the same thing was speculated about Pratt's character in Jurassic World.

I'll leave the jokes to the rest of you because I'm tired. :o
The fandom’s fixation with that kid has officially verged into “weird” territory. :o

As well they should, he's one of the only characters with a speaking role in the first movie who never came back to the franchise. If the MCU can bring back "Iron Man villain that wasn't Obadiah Stane" then surely the Jurassic franchise can bring back "Six Foot Turkey" kid. :o

Ugh. Can't stand that kind of crap.
Like the theory that the kid in Iron Man 2 is Peter Parker.
Lol?

Tom Holland did confirm the kid is Peter.
Logically it makes sense since the Stark Expo was in Queens and Peter most likely would have been all about it. The only thing I disagree with is that an 8 year old kid like Peter, who even at that age is supposed to be very smart if not a genius, could have possibly been stupid enough to think he could square off against a six foot murder bot that was about to incinerate him.

Is it, really? What would Tom Holland know?

You really think that Jon Favreau, Justin Theroux and the Marvel team had Peter Parker in mind when that scene was being written and shot?

Puh-lease .

Hey, Damian Wayne is TOTALLY in this scene !

Funny you should mention that.
Earlier today, it occurred to me that Feige got behind that whole Iron Kid/Peter Parker business, not because it was canon but because, he thought that it would make people more invested in the films.

Yeah, YEARS before Spidey was introduced in, Civil War?
Doubtful.

Jon Watts has said it too.

"I remember watching that with [Marvel Studios head] Kevin Feige and everyone and being like, 'Does the math work on that?'" Watts recalled. "He was like, 'It might, maybe.' Then I found out that was Jon Favreau's kid." Yep, that was little Max Favreau.

Jon Watts has said it too.

Jon Watts wasn't involved with Iron Man 2, either. Heck, he hadn't even directed a feature film yet.

When Iron Man 2 was in production and then released, Sony Pictures was still in development on Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4!

THey can say whatever they want. If they like the idea and want to (falsely) make that retroactively Peter Parker, so be it.

But in Iron Man 2... that's just some kid.

Feige was involved in the conversation too. Retroactive continuity that isn't directly addressed happens all the time in franchises, this isn't anything new. There's no evidence that it's Peter but at the same time there's no evidence that it's not him either. It's more of a retroactive easter egg than anything.

I just find the whole concept of this movie really redundant at this point. Like, what’s so scary about an island full of dinosaurs (even the MOST dangerous ones or whatever) when the whole world is already infested with them? I guess I would be more interested in this series “getting back to its roots” if they hadn’t already taken everything in such a monumentally stupid direction. But I'm sure it will make a billion dollars.

I always wondered if they'd bring back one of the kids from the original as an adult...

Granted, this one has a tiny bit more validity by comparison since Jonathan Bailey himself said that his character had a connection to Alan Grant, whilst the Owen one was always based on speculation with nothing pointing to it other than an interest in Raptors.

I don't really give a damn about who said what between Feige, Holland and Watts.

I'm just saying, that was just some random kid in Iron Man 2.

And there is nothing wrong with retroactivity. But it should amount to more and be more thoughtful than just that.

What a coincidence, because I don't really give a damn about this argument anymore. You want it to be a random kid? Fine. If people want to imagine he's Peter Parker? Also fine. There's no evidence to prove or disprove it one way or another.

It's an obvious but acceptable retcon, like how Luke and Leia weren't originally supposed to be siblings.

My dude relax lol. It's a retcon, one of many that have been done over the last 15 years in the MCU. Of course it wasn't the original intention when they filmed it. You may not like it but they've confirmed it's him so it's him.

If it's true then it's still not the most farfetched thing this franchise has done but if they really wanted his character to have a connection to Alan, they could have just had him be a grown up Eric from Jurassic Park III.

I am relaxed, and lol is about the extent of my opinion on it
