Sci-Fi Gareth Edwards's Jurassic World Rebirth

This definitely feels like Jurassic Park III on steroids.

It’s funny, we’ve only had two “official park” movies. The rest have been “lost world” of dinosaurs living in their natural habitat.

There’s something fun though about dinosaurs interacting with modern day environments (ala Raptors in the kitchen).

If this does spawn another film, I do hope we finally get a dinosaurs run amok in our cities film, but I assume that boat has long since sailed considering the direction they’ve gone now.

Just make a good 'back to basics' dinosaur movie and I'm happy. The worst parts of the JW trilogy for me were them trying to go bigger, add new crazy ideas and I'm still not sold on that frankenstein dinosaur in the new movie because of that.

No more Maisie Lockwood ideas please. If you can perfect human cloning then all of the dinosaur stuff just becomes a drop in the water all of a sudden.

We were so close a crossover with another Universal property. Jurassic Kingdom: Monsters vs Dinosaurs!

Silliness of the "we need to get DNA from a flying dinosaur, a land dinosaur and an aquatic dinosaur" plot and the big mutated dino gone wrong aside, this almost feels back to basics for the original Park movies.

I'm not interested enough to watch the new trailer.

But I still plan to watch it in the cinemas in July. I hope its good.

Focusing on the T-rex action is a great idea. Everyone loves the T-rex.
There's a reason why they went back and retroactively changed the logo for Jurassic Park III in marketing. Though in hindsight, we haven't seen the Spinosaur since until now (and even then it's not the same design as in III), they should just let him have the logo just for one movie. :o

Now this is surprising. I figure it has mostly to do with Superman having called dibs the following week but did WB call dibs with F1 for that week?

Even I audibly said "WTF" when I read this. Seeing this on regular degular screens takes the bite out of the fire breathing T-Rex now.

WB and Disney really sewn those IMAX screens up in July.

Universal did kind of throw Jurassic into the ring fairly late in the game after release dates were established for the other movies, to the point where I was convinced that it wouldn't make the date. Not having the benefit of IMAX screens will mean they'll lose that extra chunk of change but it should still make a lot of bank regardless.

Absolutely Drizzy.

It has waaaaaay too many heavy hitters in it for it to not be some type of success at the box office in a little while.

You aren't interested enough to watch a free trailer, but you'll stump up 20 bucks to see the movie?
I saw the first trailer, which I also saw again when I watched Mission Impossible and Final Destination last Saturday. From my YouTube feed today, I saw there's a new trailer and I just don't feel watching anything else from the movie, until its released in theaters in July.

It was the term "I'm not interested" that was puzzling.

I'm not that interested to watch the 2nd trailer. Jurassic World isn't a favorite film franchise of mine. I've already seen the first trailer (multiple times) which didn't really make me excited about the movie, so I'm just waiting for the film to come out when its out in July.

And yes, I'm willing to spend money for a ticket, since I have seen the last three JW films in cinemas. I also don't plan to watch any new movies in the cinemas, in June, so thats another reason why I'm willing to watch another Jw film by July (despite my lack of interest to the 2nd trailer) as I'm already skipping a lot of movies in the cinemas because of streaming. I hope its good so it would be worth my money.

Hopefully you enjoy it then. 👍

When the world itself is populated by Dinosaurs?! Ugh this franchise doesn’t know what to do with anymore.
I think they realized is not doable. It stops being a Jurassic Park movie and it becomes something else. Even in Dominion, by the end they reverted back to being on an island again. That's where this thing belongs.
The concept of dinosaurs running around the world might sound good in concept, but that's not really a movie I want to see. I accepted the fact that there might be limits to this franchise and I'm more than fine with having Jurassic Park/Jurassic Park III adventures.

Maybe I'm getting a little ahead of myself here but this looks pretty awesome and it definitely looks like it's going to deliver on the dino action.

Granted the trailers for Dominion looked great too but the T-Rex scene already looks better than anything we got in those first three movies.

Finally, the dinos feel scary again and my god does the CGI look so much better than the past movies as well.

I'm actually pretty hyped for this now.
