Kind of reminded me of the cover of the last EU book featuring them, Crucible.

I'll never stop mourning the missed opportunity to have our power trio onscreen one last time.

Was that really too much to ask?

Kinda hoping they either do a movie trilogy with them Post ROTJ or a TV series. I think Jon Fav could handle it well.

I would definitely love to see a Luke movie set between ROTJ and TFA. Just to make up for how disappointing I found his role in TLJ. You could end the Luke movie with him going into Kylo’s hut.

Post ROTJ - Recast Luke, Recast Leia, Second Recast Han

TLJ - Mark, Carrie

If they want to do a post ROTJ film set before TFA they should do a limited animated series or an animated film for their new streaming service.

I doubt they'd be dumb enough to ever re-cast the Big Three in-between the OT & ST trilogies. That's a different beast to pre-ANH like with Solo.

The new Resistance animated series Filoni is working on that starts this fall is post ROTJ.

Not sure if the timeline or timeframe for Favreau's series has been divulged.

Yes, Favreau's show is about 3-4 years after Return of the Jedi.

The new Resistance show is going to be about a few years before The Force Awakens.

Yes, Favreau's show is about 3-4 years after Return of the Jedi.

Yeah, what was said was 7 Years ABY (After Battle of Yavin) since ABY is basically the major timeline point for Star Wars lore in canon now. So that puts it about 3-4 years after ROTJ

I would just love to see a movie with a de-aged Mark Hamill as Luke. Show him actually teaching students and initially being successful at it before Kylo ruins it all.

Initially, I didn't want them to ever recast Luke. But at this point in time... I just don't think the trio was given the respect they deserved in the new movies. I guess I want to see a prime Jedi Luke. I really enjoyed Solo and thought Alden did a good job. It would be cool to see him pop up in it with Luke as well.

But if they could pull off de aging Hamill and making it look right... I'm okay with that too.

Alden was fine in Solo...if his character wasn't named Han Solo. He never felt like Han to me.

He's not Ford-Han, but he's not supposed to be yet. More of a borderline-hyperactive ambitious kid with everything to prove and no perspective on anything.

After getting thrown under the bus in the months leading up to the film's release, I thought Ehrenreigh did just fine. They never should have recast Han Solo though. It was just a silly notion from day one. No-one in the canon is as intrinsic to their character as Harrison Ford is to Solo.

Yeah I was severely disappointed with Luke’s role in TLJ, so I want something to make up for that. I enjoyed Solo a lot as well and thought Alden did really well, so re-cast Luke wouldn’t bother me as much a shame it might have previously. But while Hamill is still young enough to pull it off, I would rather they used him.

If Stallone, Arnie and Willis can, don’t see why Hamill couldn’t with the right training.

But I doubt we will see it happen anyway.

Aren’t the other actors action stars since the early of their career? (2 are even former athletes?) Training since your 20s and carrying it to your 70s is much easier and safer than being a slightly overweight who never go to the gym and suddenly is forced to loose weight and start to do stunts when you’re already in your mid-60s.

I’m not saying that they can’t do it though. They can use stunt actor through and through like Dooku or just do it like Obi-Wan in ANH.

You can't really re-cast Luke in live-action the same way as Han, not unless it's a story where Luke's a really young kid in a cameo, like an Obi-Wan solo.

We've seen the guy from 19 to 53/54 in-universe with the same actor, you can't just have a different guy playing him in-between those years and it not be completely jarring.

Animated's a different story though, if Mark didn't want to do it. You can Clone Wars/Rebels that stuff easily with soundalikes.
