Of course Guillemot and his nepo family want complete control, this is why they fought off Vivendi years ago. But they want the financial burden to fall upon someone else at the same time.
Which is understandable since the Company was founded by the Family.
Its a tough situation because i dont want Tencent to build a Monopol in the industry, but i also think its time that someone else runs Ubisoft...especially with the abuse allegations etc that Guillemot tried to ignore and downplay.

Also, the company is over $2 billion in debt, from what I've read online.

Yep, hopefully there can be a better buyer out there. Ubisoft aren’t worth much these days so a bunch of companies could afford them, but they are a bloated mess of a company and would need a ton of transition work that is probably beyond most.

In those early days, Barrett noted through the lawsuit, "Colorful language and off-color jokes were common. Employees frequently and openly referred to things as 'gay'. Sexual 'mom' jokes and racist jokes were commonplace. Nudity was not prohibited — Bungie personnel engaged in 'moonings' in the office, where employees would pull their pants down and display their buttocks (a practice that continued to some degree over the years)."

...oookay....

Yeah, admitting to that isn't a great move.

Why would you not do that sooner? Like, people scream since 15 years for a new Dino Crisis and stuff.
Capcom has such a big IP pool and let so much sit somewhere without doing anything.

Both things sound highly uninteresting to me.

No, say your stuff man...Developers have been way too nice to people in the past.
The Customer is always right...has its limits.
Stand up for yourself and call dumb people dumb or so.

Kamiya's whole schtick is that he's a anti-social curmudgeon...on social media. He's been that way since forever.
