Tencent, Guillemot Family Are Said to Mull Ubisoft Asset Venture

  • Chinese firm, family evaluating assets to be included, value
  • Ubisoft deal may help Tencent expand business outside of China

Nothing that helps Tencent expand is a good thing, the company has too much power already.
I hate to say it, i was always a enemy of regulations etc for gaming or internet...but the last 8 or so years have shown that people need Regulations and cant be trusted with unlimited access to gaming or the Internet.
Too many people got broken by consuming too much of it.
Too many kids have been preyed on in various ways through gaming.

I hate the idea of Government etc controlling people, but it is absolutely clear that some people need oversight, have to step away from the digital world once in a while, for their own good.

Too many video games are too long these days and the bloat increases their budgets and development times.

I’d also argue that too much game/hobby time is mentally unhealthy.

This is the funniest outcome, because i think it was the games game director who sided with the Grifters on knocking Dragon Age Veilguard down.
Now the same grifters turn on his game because it has LGBT content, its quite ironic.

$20 million fine means they made at least $40 million off it.

Hilarious that they use art from a mobile game for this headline, though.

Also, they got the genre wrong. Since it's being developed by former X-COM devs (not Respawn), it will probably be an XCOM-like. Thus it'll be a turn-based strategy game, not an RTS game.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Writer Attacked Over Queer Representation

  • Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is said to include a same-sex romance scene.
  • Some of the more hateful portions of the community are turning against the game, accusing the studio of "lying" to them.
  • Others are going as far as cancelling their pre-orders and boycotting the game.
As Vávra hints in his statement, he is often on the other side of this campaign. He has a history of being sympathetic to the GamerGamer crowd, going as far back as the mid-2010s. More recently, he was accused of making an "unprofessional" jab at Dragon Age: The Veilguard at a time when many were rooting for its downfall due to its inclusion of LGBT+ characters.

Oh look at that, the same people the game director or what sided with to take shots at Dragon age...suddenly turn on the very same studio...as predicted.

Sign of the times. :csad:
Seems they havent lost enough money yet.
I never seen the industry so obsessed over something that caused them more loss than anything.
The industry always followed trends, followed what made the most Money.
But nothing like this.
Where despite 90% of games failing, they keep making them.
A Market so small and already oversaturated, yet they keep trying to break into it, sacrificing more than its worth in order to do so...while constantly failing.

I imagine Xbox a fair chunk of that.

Massively looking forward to this one. That trailer couldn't have been much better.
