The “Your Father Would Be Proud” track on the soundtrack is brutal. :csad:
Oh yeah!

The moment that hit me way more then I could have expected was Jyn reacting to her father's message. I could feel the years of her waiting for something. I got a bit choked up there both times I saw it.
What a great turning point for her, she was quick ready to walk away from the fight again, that her father had done this meant everything to her.
She was back in it.
Also seeing she was back, allowed long suffering Gerrera to finally let go, knowing the baton had passed and the fight was still on.

I love these characters.

Took my 10 year old daughter to see it tonight....she loved it.

meant it not I did
Thing is, even if a 4k is released I don't have a 4K player. I'm one who thinks 4K looks TOO sharp. Not sure it would be a good idea.
The thing is, if they release it in 4k, they can release it other ways as well. So it would simply make a high quality version of the original film finally available.

I just want the OT the way it was originally made. For every little improvement made on background effects, the warts of the Special Editions vastly out weigh them for me. I mean I live with them, I still love them, but I'd definitely prefer to have the ones I grew up with. Which while having their own little oddities when compared to the theatrical ones, are far closer.

:yay:

May I ask, how did she react to all the [BLACKOUT]deaths[/BLACKOUT]? Also how about the Vader scenes? I also assume she loved K2.

No more crappy Jabba scene or CGI crap everywhere?

giphy.gif
The Jabba scene was switched back to the guy in a fur coat and Jabba's appearance in Return will also be played by fur coat man.

Yeah I can see it that way. Thing is when C Lee and I were younger each new media format would include Bonus items whether it was images, music or video to get you to get the newer formats. They've done it with dvds and Blurays (still do) I'm afraid they'll have some more extras or some special deal that won't be on bluray/dvd. I'm just getting tired of the sales ploy

Another fan in the making then! lol
Oh, she's already a STAR WARS fan (dressed as Rey last Halloween) and we regularly have light sabre duels.
:yay:

She grabbed my arm and teared up at some of them....[BLACKOUT]but I think Han's death in TFA prepared her for the eventuality that some of her heroes could die.[/BLACKOUT]

So brilliant. Seeing little Reys running around this past Halloween was the best thing. I don't think I have seen so many young girls dressed up for Halloween in Star wars costumes before.

Yeah they hurt but what happened to Han last year is probably going to be hard to top unless something happens to Luke, Leia or Rey.

I doubt that's Snoke. It's fun to theorize, but it's sort of like theorizing that Jyn Erso is Rey's mother.

Had my 5th viewing yesterday.

I think I am now ready for the big waiting for the Blu-Ray (if of course some time doesn't pass and I don't decide to go see it again lol).

The new restoration will be released on 1080p blu-ray. All the "4k restoration" thing means is they cleaned up the film (removed dirt, cuts, scratches, burn marks, corrected any color issues that developed in storage, stabilized grain, fixed any destroyed or missing frames etc) and then they made a source file at 4k resolution.

4k and 2k restorations are released on 1080p blu-ray all the time. (At least 80% of films these days are finished at 2k and down scaled to 1080p for blu-ray.) The UHD disc will get the full 4K resolution. The blu-ray will get a 1080p version derived from the new restored 4K source. So as long as you have a 1080p blu-ray player and 1080p tv you'll get to watch the new restoration in 1080p.

They might not even release the new restoration on UHD disc. Disney as of now isn't releasing their films or Marvel's or LFL's on UHD disc. Only 1080p blu-ray.

You may think Snoke is a scarred, pale, skinny alien. But he's actually an overweight Irishman covered in fur.

He knew that after Greedo's failure he'd need to change tactics to wrest galactic power. The visual of Post-heroin Andy Serkis was just the most convenient.

I can see clean up and all, I just hope it doesn't go any further than that.
It's like some people not loving the idea of colorizing old Black and White Classic movies. I wouldn't mind the clean up at all. Right now I would LOVE a copy of the original theatrical in that format

Haven't seen this yet :'( don't want spoilers but have to ask... HOW awesome is Vader in this?

He is as good as he was in the OT. A single scene is more vicious than any of his scenes in the OT. People werent kidding when they said he was a terror.

But I feel the need to warn you that he only has 2 scenes. They are really good but brief.
