It's not supposed to be Tatooine, but a war ravaged planet of some sort. One that once may have been great but after 30 years of war, not so much.

There's some speculation the "Dark Knight in the concept art" is played by JGL.

Ugh I hope not. Cant say Ive ever been a fan of JGL. He's not a bad actor. He just does nothing for me.

Have to disagree I love JGL. But we have no idea of knowing. It would be interesting to see him play a baddie. I remember we all thought he would be the "bad guy" in Inception, the trailers seemed to hint that.

I think JGL is a fantastic actor.

Do I need him in Star Wars? Probably not.

I'm a fan of his. If he's in then great, if not no big deal.

They can continue to say it isn't Tatooine, but that is Tatooine.

That architecture in the new concept art looks nothing like the Tatooine architecture we've seen in the films. Least I dont remember anything that looked like that.

Industrial Light and Magic opens UK studio to work on new Star Wars trilogy

.............

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilms and a producer on Star Wars VII, said it was “quite remarkable standing here within three weeks of finishing filming on Star Wars episode VII”. She continued: “This studio continues a long tradition of Stars Wars films being made in London, it goes back to 1976. I think Stars Wars aspires to technical excellence and that’s what brings ILM to London today as this explosion of creativity inside the UK has been quite remarkable.”

"They" is not LFL they have said nothing one way or another. But the sources for the past 7 months that have been pretty solid on a lot of what we've been hearing have said it's not Tatooine. Devin even reaffirmed it a few times.

Could it be? Of course there may be crossed wires, but it very well could be just a war torn planet that is new.

That concept art is so beautiful, brings me back to the good ol' days.

I love the look of the new Stormtroopers. They look a lot more lethal. Going to be interesting to see who is in control of the Empire. Looks like they upgraded instead of being broken down from Palpatine's death.

I really hope we get a teaser by Christmas.

It looks like classic Tatooine concept art. Heck, the AT-AT base looks like it is where Obi-Wan found Luke in Star Wars.

I know who is saying it. And these are also the same people that keep trying to push that Daisy isn't playing a Skywalker/Solo and that Luke is the cyborg.

That "4 rules" video was really well done, but the whole "Star Wars is a western" thing always annoyed me. It's a lot more than that.

Well there was never a big imperial presence on Tatooine, so I'd say this is somewhere else...

No Devin said that there is some truth to the Luke thing, but that Jason got that wrong. Jason was just purely speculating. So pretty much Devin said no that's not the case, but there is strings of truth in it and yes it's hard to tell it's convoluted and cryptic what everyone talks about. I don't remember Devin saying Daisy is not a Solo. And also they have been right on a bunch as well. Even with a lot they've gotten wrong.

Well it is more then that, but it's something that they felt was lacking from the PT. That feeling of being on the fringe, in dangerous uncivilized areas. I think that was the point they were aiming at. But being a western in space is a big aspect of it.

That "leaked" concept art is stunning, the film looks like it will keep Star Wars tracked record of creating visually exciting villains in tact and I love the images of the wrecked Imperial vehicles in the desert.

I'm intrigued by the trooper with the cloak, I wonder if that is someone on the desert planet that has pieced together some armor from Imperial left overs, maybe a bounty hunter? I was thinking it could fit with the rumour regarding Boyega's character.

I am also wondering about the humans fused with droid parts, one looked like he had a bit of a protocol droid built into his face.

It's hard to tell but Boyega seems to be an Imperial TIE Fighter pilot...but maybe he is part of the chrome troopers as well and just jumped into a TIE Fighter. It is said it starts with him crashing into this planet. Some say the Chrome Troopers are chasing after him.

We have heard many times that the head Chrome Trooper is played by Ms. Christie who plays Brienne of Tarth in Game of Thrones. Some rumors say she is a descendant of Dooku but we don't know for sure about any of that.

Some have said the Chrome Troopers can turn invisible and that the main one "Christie" may have a lightsaber and be the "Jedi Hunter" squad type thing. But all of that is still rumor based.
