Meet the new thread, same as the old thread.

So what's up with the new Star Destroyer's shield generator, is it just one ball in the middle ?

Someone asked me who Tarkin was today....

*sigh

Clearly they didn't know what they were Tarkin about

Just my 2 cents, Joe Johnston is also on my "Don't you dare touch SW" list. He made 2 half-decent films that probably work when one is a kid. And the first half of Captain America. Otherwise, he's mediocre to outright bad. Just because Rocketeer and Boba have jetpacks doesn't mean he should do the Fett solo movie.

I also think he's past his prime. Like his heyday was the late 80's early 90's, though I DID like his Captain America.

His prime was "meh" to me. He's a kiddie movies director with mediocre skills at best and SW needs a director with his inner kid still there, which is different.

As for Cap, after the satirical montage with Steve as a troops entertainer, the movie went seriously downhill, imo.

God I loved The Rocketeer and Honey I Shrunk. Those are gems.

But again, I really think that Kennedy wants up and comers for the spin off movies. Though I would argue Rian is on the cusp of becoming a veteran.

Rocketeer is a gem made of fecal matter. Honey and Jumanji are passable.

Rian needs the recognition to be deemed a veteran, I think. Skills and experience-wise he IS on the cusp, though.

huh?

Yup. Just my (extremely outspoken, I wager) opinion, though.

Nah, The Rocketeer was pretty good. He's usually very hit or miss, but both October Sky and Rocketeer were realy good, while Jumanji and Honey i shrunk the kids were enjoyable good movies. Captain America had an amazing first half, but the second half wasn't nearly as good, as it had to be a rush job throghout Cap's WWII years in order to get to The Avengers.

That was the script's fault. It's not like he did anything to save it.

To be fair, it's not as if Marvel would allow him, and he did bring an interesting style to the film. That said, he's realy hit or miss, usualy more miss than hit.

The Rocketeer is a masterpiece, if for no other reason:

The prequels were written and directed by Lucas. No where to run with those, no one else to blame. And yet, you like that fecal matter. :funny:
