at what point in the Force Vision does Kenobi come in?

is it during the snowy forest part?

I wonder if Yoda is done for good, or if they find a way to bring him back. Perhaps to aid in her training? Or since she is somehow so super advanced this early (lol) maybe Finn can be sent to train with Yoda who's ghostly presence is somehow materialized. ;)

I would love a scene where Luke meditates and speaks to Obiwan and Yoda as sort of a Jedi roundtable

If Ewan McGregor came back as Force Ghost Obi-Wan I'd stand up and cheer in the theater. Literally the only character in the prequels worth a damn, just wish he was the main character.

Didn't Pablo Hidalgo say that any character in the EU now Legends Universe could possibly be rewritten or reintroduced to the new Disney canon? I mean after all "Aftermath" hinted that Thrawn may or may not be in this new established universe and J.J., Lawrence Kasdan and Michael Arndt took at least some things from the EU (substitute the Sun Crusher for Starkiller Base; Luke had a son named Ben but now Kylo Ren is Ben and Han and Leia's son, but like Jacen, Luke tried to train him and Jacen succumbed to the Darkside. Rey must bring back Ben back to the Light similar to Jaina trying to bring her brother back to the Lightside of the Force.)

Snoke could easily be Plagueis and now that he is no longer a Muun, anything is possible, but from what we're told, Snoke sounds fairly similar to Palpatine; a Force-sensitive politician who indoctrinated the masses.

With the Kylo in the forest part of the vision being something of the future, I've got my fingers crossed that Obi-Wan line is supposed to be a glimpse of the future as well and we'll see his ghost in episode 8.
This makes me want force ghost Obi to return in Episode 8 even more than I already did. I love the idea that Obi watched over Rey or took an interest in Rey. Maybe he has been keeping an eye on Rey this whole time but because she closed herself off from the Force and he couldn't see or sense him. Maybe by opening herself up to the Force again she will see or hear him again.

I believe it's during the scene in Maz's castle when Rey locates the lightsaber. There's a bunch of voices talking at once, I need to see it again to hear Kenobi's and Yoda's voices but I did distinctly hear Luke's "Noooo!" from "ESB."

Rey being Kenobi's granddaughter is certainly a possibility. I would accept that scenario if she's not a Skywalker.

it's also possible she could both be Kenobi's granddaughter and Luke's daughter. ;)

How could she be related to Kenobi? Obi-Wan was a celibate Jedi and then an even more celibate desert hermit.

clone of luke? but female? From the same raw hand ?

Maybe Snoke is that as well...

Damn this is awesome...we havnt "wondered" about a SW ovie this much since the 80s

That would be cool he was a great Obi-wan the best part of the PT by far!

That would be awesome make it happy Disney!

You know...been thinking about how the PT could have been. What if they were more central to Obi Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker ;) Hence the name Kenobi could have had more significance along with the Skywalker name. hmm? I have some ideas that could have worked but I dunno if anyone would be interested in reading them at this point. *sighs* I liked some of the PT, but not all of it. The stuff I did like alot now than I ever did before were the Fall of the Republic and the Rise of the Sith...and how the senate scenes really made sense as a whole. and how they were important to the overall story to explain how the Old Republic was destined to be corrupted and fall only to rise through the ashes as the Empire. Now that was interesting. I was never one for Politics to be honest but being older now, it makes a whole lot sense.

Here's the breakdown of the vision....

1. Rey hears yelling of a child saying ‘No’
2. She goes into the room and finds Luke’s lightsaber
3. Once she touches, she finds herself in the corridor before Luke and Vader battle on Bespin
4. “The energy” said by Yoda
5. The corridor starts to crumble and crashes then Rey falls
6. “Nooooo” yelled by Luke on Bespin
7. The camera zooms to Luke and R2. There’s something burning in the background
8. “Binds us” said by Yoda
9. Rain pours down and Rey looks up to find someone swinging a stick at her. He gets stabbed from the back by Kylo Ren. The man swinging the stick yells in pain. It seems that the man with the stick (is that the same stick Rey is carrying) is a member of the Knights of Ren and Kylo is stopping him.
10. Rey stands up and is shocked by her surrounding. Corpses lying everywhere and the Knights of Ren standing in the center. Kylo Ren turns to face her and starts approaching her.
11. “No, come back!” yells a younger version of Rey in Jakku as she looks at the spaceship fly away “Quiet girl” says Unkar Plutt, the Jakku Junk Dealer Possibly suggesting that she was traded for the ship.
12. Rey looks at the spaceship and the blue sky turns to black and the sun to red.
13. “Rey?”
14. Now Rey is in a snowy forest and Kylo Ren appears suddenly with his lightsaber drawn, forcing Rey to fall back and out of the ‘acid’ dream
15. “This is the first step” possibly by Obi-Wan.

I knew I heard Obi Wan! Not sure if people read about it (probably already talked about on here), but an article and interview with JJ Abrams details it:

And you hear Obi-Wan at the end say, ‘Rey … these are your first steps,’” Abrams says. “Here’s the cool part. We asked Ewan McGregor to come in and do the line. And he was awesome and we were very grateful. He was incredibly sweet and handsome, and all that stuff. Then he rode off on his motorcycle. Literally the coolest voice over actor ever.”

As they worked on editing the dream sequence, Bryan Burk, a longtime Bad Robot collaborator and one of the producers of the film, surprised Abrams one day with the gift of a single word: Obi-Wan Kenobi’s voice saying the name “Rey …”

“I said, ‘That’s cool, is that the thing from Ewan McGregor?’” Abrams recalled. “He said ‘No, we took a line from Alec Guinness saying ‘Afraid.’” Not only that, but the lilt in his voice from that truncated word happened to fit exactly what Abrams had in mind. “They cut it, and you hear the performance – he’s saying it the way I would have begged Alec Guinness to have said it. It is so crazy perfect,” Abrams says. “So when you hear Obi-Wan talk to Rey it is both Alec Guinness and Ewan McGregor doing the voice.”

So they fused the two together. Guinness says "Rey" using stock sound and Ewan McGregor does the rest of the line.

Obi is the one who says, "Rey?". I wasn't able to tell who said, "This is the first step." may have been Obi too.

thanks for that..very cool.

Obvious is child of Luke and wife x

second is clone of wife x

Third is female clone of Luke himself....

Maybe she is some genetic mash-up of all these jedi

So the "Rey" is from Guinness, and the "these are your first steps" is from Ewan?

:mrk:

Ewan...was a great Obi Wan. I hope he'll return in some form...who knows. He was the best thing about the PT. Great casting.

Wouldn't bother me, but I could totally imagine the *****storm from the self-righteous, entitled bigot crowd. The usual canned responses would follow; e.g. "There goes Disney pushing that gay agenda right along with the rest of Hollywood."

I will say that it would take me by surprise, if only because it seems like he's crushing on Rey pretty hard right now, and two things in particular lead me to believe this:

  1. He asks her to come with him to the outer rim. "Let's run away together" isn't typically said between friends.
  2. He was willing to (potentially) jeopardize the entire objective of the third act just to rescue her. I could see someone doing something remotely similar for a friend as well (Cap would, for Bucky), but considering just how much was at stake, I'd say there's a bit more going on here.

Its pretty obvious to me that Finn is thirsty as ***k for Rey, and shes warming up to idea. I dont know where this just friends thing is coming from.

You also hear Padme’s cries from when she was in labor with Luke and Leia. I heard that when I saw it again today.

Well...what is conformed is they are in our flipping head...

whats cool is the NT never got in our heads.

that's pretty cool.

You don't risk your life and go half way across the galaxy to the most dangerous place in known space to save a "friend" that you just met. Finn clearly is nuts for Rey.

I think the vision sequence was going fast so it hard to catch all the lines especially if two line are from the dead
