Poe's chapter in Before The Awakening has to do with how and why

he left the Republic for the Resistance and how he met up with General Leia Organa and it ends with the discovery (after a mission led by Poe against a corrupt Republic Senator) that the First Order is after Lor San Tekka. Leia hopes to find San Tekka first because he might know where Luke is.
