George Lucas and Bob Iger are apparently at Disney's Hollywood Studios in Disney World tonight, and they're expected to make a big announcement tonight around 9:45pm.

If they're doing it from Disney, I'm guessing it's the long-rumored Star Wars Land coming to the Studios park, but who knows?

Stay tuned...

There apparently WAS no announcement. Just fireworks. DAMN IT ALL!!!

That's what I'm hearing too. Boooo!!! :argh:

I was expecting something from somewhere today...

Darn, I was so sure with Disney running those May 4th adds on their channels and such.

I wasnt expecting anything, but deep down i was hoping for something :csad:

Mark Hamill made a surprise appearance at the Return of the Jedi EW Cape Fest screening. Taking questions right now. He's taken one "creative meeting" over Episode VII and told them how there needs to be a good balance between practical effects and CG.

I love the notion of Hamill wanting to make sure the films are done correctly.

Disney dropped the ball today.

it's hard to tell but it looks like he lost some weight there.

Even better is that supposedly Kathleen Kennedy agreed with him.

While he was the first to admit that any creative decisions involving the new Star Wars Trilogy won't have “Make Mark Hamill happy” as priority #1, he did say that Kennedy agreed with him and already discussed that with George Lucas, citing how Jurassic Park only had a handful of digital shots in the whole movie that are sold by blending the in with practical creatures and other cinema tricks.

Excellent, didn't know that.

He also agreed with a fan about where Luke is, aka being more about "Jedi mind-tricks than lightsaber duels". Which I think we can all agree with, though... I would love to see Grand Master Skywalker break out ol' green just once more. :jedi

“We’re progressing on a schedule to hopefully begin next year, or the beginning of next year, and the location is still kind of floating around in the air all depending on script and a whole bunch of other issues. As I just said, everything is kind of a free-flowing thing, and when we feel like the story level on this script and everything is really coming together and schedules are all working and pieces line up, we prowl ahead, and Star Wars will be no different.”

Producer Bryan Burk talking about possible start date for shooting.

Very encouraging to know that the script is being given the time it needs to be just right. The lessons have been learnt it seems. Tight script, outdoor locations, less CGI and more practical stuff. Thumbs up.

Looks like Star Wars games will be made by EA....I feel split about that. There are some great devs in there for sure (Bioware used to be one of my favorites but their last few games have been good but not as great as they use to be) But hopefully some of their best devs will work on it. They talked about DICE who does the great Battlefield games...I would love to see that in the Star Wars universe for sure.

It looks like DICE, Visceral, and BioWare will be working on Star Wars games. EA's best developers IMO. If we can get a Battlefield styled Battlefront or similar game and a true KOTOR III I will be very happy! But I am skeptical because EA is..well...EA.
