Actually Chole Moretz has been tweeting a lot the past day, she's clearly watching a marathon of Star Wars starting with Episode I. It kinda came out of no where, and she's not denying anything. Could mean nothing, but she's been talking Star Wars for a while apparently on her Twitter.

Just saw that. I'm a fan of Moretz and would love to see her in this. She's already said she's open to being in it. She might not be as unknown as some would like, but we know she has talent.

Apparently she is on episode III. Studying she could be? Hmmm [/Yoda]

If I remember correctly, there was a report that Matthew Vaughn wanted Moretz to play the lead if he directed the movie. Also, Moretz did say that she had a big project coming up that was really exciting for her. JJ is really good with casting, and actors in general, so I trust his judgment.

I'm going back and reading articles about the casting process for the recent Abrams films. In 2007 Quinto and Saldana and (possibly) Bana were cast before Pine. The words "scheduling conflict" come up a lot as well as they had to drop projects to get into Star Trek.

Here's what was assumed to be a casting call for Super 8 (detailed). Chandler and Fanning were the first names publicly revealed by media to be cast in that film.

I think we will get some casting news in the next month. But in reality Episode I was pretty much cast 2 months prior to shooting. And Hayden was not cast until 1 month prior to shooting. I honestly think Disney wants to just drop it all at once. And have a huge news day.
