Ready are you? What know you of ready? For eight hundred years have I trained Jedi. My own counsel will I keep on who is to be trained. A Jedi must have the deepest commitment, the most serious mind. This one a long time have I watched. All his life has he looked away... to the future, to the horizon. Never his mind on where he was. Hmm? What he was doing. Hmph. Adventure. Heh. Excitement. Heh. A Jedi craves not these things. You are reckless.

I wouldn't be surprised if that video was a marketing tool disguised as a fan video.

Frank Oz and co. breathed life into that puppet. Maybe the single best achievement in the series, other than the music of course.

I've always been a fan of Yoda and jumped out of my seat cheering when he fought in AOTC.

Everyone loved the scene of Yoda fighting. Both in AOTC and ROTS.

The cheering was amongst the loudest during those scenes.

The Yoda fights are excellent. I love how he kicks so much butt in battle and then goes back to the feeble old man routine. I smile every time.

I liked it the first time, but after a while it wore on me a tad. I just would have preferred to see him be somewhat beyond that. But it is what it is.

I remember the crowd going nuts during Attack Of The Clones. The camera circling around Yoda then he brings out the lightsaber. The crowd cheered & laughed. Good times

Good ole Jedi News, always a step behind. But now they're confirming that Chiwetel's in?

    We'll see.

Oyelowo, Ejiofor...now we're just missing Elba for the trifecta.

Edit: Poor guy had an asthma attack today. Hope he feels better soon.

    Haha, yeah.

My beef with them is how they dont' really have 'casting exclusives' per say; they just expand on other pre-existing rumors and gossip. As if they lurk this very board for news..

Things are only real when Nikki Finke says they're real and then spends 90% of an article patting herself on the back for it.

So is this rumor to be dismissed or do they have some credibility?

At this point unless i receive a engraved letter written on official Disney paper handwritten in JJ Abrams handwriting along with a DNA sample delivered by Mark Hamill astride a TauntaunÂ…then it's to be dismissed.

at this point, until Disney or the trades state any news, it's literally all moot.

I find it antithetical to how Yoda was presented in the OT. This was a character who was slow to violence, if he even fought at all. Who was all about the power of the immaterial force as a spiritual guide, not as a weapon. I wouldn't have been surprised if he didn't have a lightsaber at all. He was a teacher and mentor, not a soldier like the Jedi knights were.

For me personally, while they had their own cool moments, the Yoda fights just felt very fan-servicey to me.

Yoda, just like very other Jedi, was trained on how to use a lightsaber. Why would anyone not expect a younger version to be fighting like he did, or even more odd, to not use a lightsaber? He was fighting in a war, after all.

I don't think being 20 years younger matters too much when you're close to 1000 years old.

20 years can make all the difference, especially when you go into exile and no longer have a need to use a lightsaber. At that point, all of that unlimited solitude is time for meditation and bonding with the force. That's time that Yoda never completely had, because of his obligations as a Jedi. Maybe I shouldn't have included "younger" in there, but regardless, it wasn't fan-servicey because Yoda had reasons to be fighting in the Clone Wars.
