georgians.is the rebel flag ofensive or our heritage?

i have several ancestors who fought in the civil war for the south(including one whos parents named him george washington hair.no crap)
and i think its our heritage and shouldnt be taken form our flag.now im not racist or a slavery supporter mind you.i dont even stereotype.but most of the people who faught under that flag werent even slave owners.they were people whos homes had been attacked and destroyed.
who agrees?

now the confederates and the nazis are 2 different things.you need to study more history.notice that 91%of the south didnt have slaves.89% were against slavery and were already in the prosess of getting rid of it.
then there was a power struggle as usual.and things got rough.people dont like being told to do somthing there already doing.and the nutty abolitionists of the north didnt help with there attacks on the south.
so it led to war.and id like to point out that what happened to the south after the war was far beyond torture.trust me.im born and raised in georgia.i knew the meaning of family(not to insinuate other states dont)
and i know id take a thousand torments before i let one hit my family.and the fact that many men and women were now unable to provide.homeless and i poverty.having to watch your family and friends starve to death around you is terrible.

also.while there is a prevailing theory that ALL slave camps were horendous torture camps,this is not true.most were like factories with beds where you were paid with food.however. there were a few that did things like that.like i said,slavery is wrong.fighting for your home isnt.you need to watch shenandoah.it has a real good depiction of both sides.

What? How is watching films from the 60's your idea of studying history?"Most were like factories where you were paid with food":Hence the term SLAVERY. Not to mention the whole "no Rights or Freedom" aspect to the entire endeavour.Yor entire post is incorrect.The Civil war had more to do with the economics of the South,Rather than not liking "being told what to do"But I digress
Il say this:The Confederate Flag is shameful because IT IS our history.But it is American history and no more or less shameful than a great many other things.

And 95 % of the Nazi soldiers did not kill the Jews, were not aware of the Holocaust, and were simply fighting for their country. Should their ancestors be wearing swastikas?

It is stupid to take so much pride in any flag, yet alone one that stood for what the Confederate flag stood for.

strange, I always assumed anyone capable of empathy could appreciate why the holocaust was bad and why the Nazi flag is, by association, also bad.
