An Airbus A320 airliner has crashed in the French Alps between Barcelonnette and Digne, French aviation officials and police have said.
The jet belongs to the German airline Germanwings, a subsidiary of Lufthansa.
The plane, flight 4U 9525, had been en route from Barcelona to Dusseldorf with 142 passengers and six crew on board.
French President Francois Hollande said: "The conditions of the accident, which have not yet been clarified, lead us to think there are no survivors."

Speaking at a press conference said:

Contact between the plane and French air traffic controllers broke off at 10:53 (9:53 GMT) at an altitude of approx 6,000ft. The plane then crashed.

The last routine check and inspection of the aircraft took place on 23 March in Duesseldorf -the technicians were from Lufthansa.

Last regular inspection was carried out in summer 2013.

The captain has more than 10 years of experience with Lufthansa and Germanwings, and more than 6,000 hours of flying Airbus models.

To protect family members and cabin crew the list of passengers will not be released immediately.

They're saying the copilot locked the door and refused to let the captain back into the cockpit, then the descent started. Man.

LAM Mozambique Flight 470 (November 2013) was also deliberately crashed by pilot. Many experts think that murder-suicide by captain is too the most probable cause of MH370 crash.

If these reports are accurate, then there are going to have to be even tighter procedures put into place to ensure the psychological fitness of commercial aircraft pilots.

If the first officer wanted to die then why the f**k didn't he just do it the usual way and take himself out and not killing 149 other, completely innocent men, women and children.
