Superman Returns Get A Glimpse Of New Movies At Movie Carnival 2006

    Movie fans will not only be able to catch a glimpse of upcoming blockbuster movies for this year, including Mission Impossible 3, at the Movie Carnival 2006 to be held at Berjaya Times Square for two days from April 22.

    They will also able to purchase a RM6 ticket per movie at the carnival if they buy it before noon during the two-day event.

    The event organised by Cinema Online, a cinema resource and marketing and public relations agency Mypartners Communications, is being held for the first and time will also show snippets of Superman Returns, X-Men 3, Garfield 2 and Pirates of the Caribbean 2.

    Cinema Online director of cinema resource, Chin Vin Sen said the movie carnival which brought together all major movie distributors, sponsors and licensees, would showcase the biggest feature movies of the year.

    In conjunction with the carnival, several programmes will be held including "The Hunt for the Malaysian X-Men" and a nationwide search for Malaysians with extraordinary abilities with the final to be held on May 26-28 at Sunway Pyramid, Petaling Jaya, he said at press conference, here Tuesday.

    Other activities include the session to meet with the stars of local upcoming movie Gubra, a movie bazaar featuring movie themed e-gaming stations, photo stations, movie merchandise, collectibles and memorabilia, appearance of movie characters, children's colouring contest and games, he said.

    Chin said the carnival will also be partnering with online auctioneer, eBay, by setting up bidding stations with broadband access throughout the event in which movie fans could bid for exclusive imported movie merchandise and gala premiere tickets.

    "Bidding will start at RM1 and all of the proceeds will be channelled to Protect and Save the Children (P.S. the Children), a non-profit organisation for the prevention and treatment of child sexual abuse in Malaysia," he said.

    Whatever it is, there has to be somebody there who can get the footage. I hope its longer footage, maybe Showest. Then we get the trailer in April and that is leaked soon after.

    Given its timing ShowTime I would be surprised if its not the Trailer, It for the first time gets Shown here. Then opens a week or Two later with Poseidon. Mission Impossible 3 opens on May 5th so after the Trailer gets shown there it can get into Theaters a week later with that as well. It makes sense

    ^That does make sense. Either way this might mean that what Steve was refering to about a trailer coming out in the next couple weeks was about right.

    It seems Mission Impossible 3 is going to have ONE HELL of a Trailer line up & its been like 90 % confirmed already that the Final Trailer for X-Men 3 will be with Mission Impossible 3 & its been confimed that the Superman Returns Trailer comes out in May. So the Trailers get shown here & then a week later gets released publically with Mission Impossible 3 :up:

    Indeed it is... or more correctly, the comic book industry is huge. The film industry however is a very good indication of international figures. If a studio opens first in Malasia and does well, they pretty much have a benchmark on which most other international markets will follow.

    Do good numbers in Malasia and your overall international figures will be good.
