More steam from HVRR... back during the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympics, in order to help cut down on traffic in the local canyons, the railroad was used as transportation to one of the venues (Soldier Hollow - where biathlon, cross-country skiing and the Nordic combined events were done). The train was also part of the Olympic Torch's journey - which is what this video is of. The Olympic Torch run was a triple header with the aforementioned 618 & 75 (and lets see, as this was 2002 - this would be the last season 75 was running... as I said, it's been almost 17 years) - along with Nevada Northern's #93 (loaned to HVRR for the course of the games)
at 2:10 the engineer of 75 waves to a guy on the ground in a big hat, the guy in the hat is the guy that went on to found Wasatch Railroad Contractors (the ones that restored the Jim Crow era car for the Smithsonian) - he used to be Chief Mechanical Officer for HVRR before parting ways
