Well i'm 21, thing is I grew up watching the reruns on Nick at Night w/ my dad when I was like 5...

This is all you need to know: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11NhECmko4s

After watching that, you pretty much get the gist of the show...still gets me to this day. :woot:

So am I. That's the beauty of Nick at Nite & TV Land.

Well, that was the beauty of Nick at Nite. When they were airing shows from the 50s, 60s, and 70s, it was great. Even the 80s shows were good. But once they started airing shows from the 90s? A mere decade ago? I haven't tuned in since. I can catch reruns of Fresh Prince on The N and about 2 local TV stations every afternoon.

Hmm, I'm 18 and I remember Get Smart from my childhood('s reruns). And from recent (2005-2006) reruns. Great show.

EDIT: Oh, today is actually Don Adams' (the original Maxwell Smart) birthday. Happy birthday and RIP. :(

When is this coming out? It sounds good and the cast is great.

So according to AICN, Buck Henry and Mel Brooks (the creators of Get Smart) have been hired as creative consultants for the movie! AWESOME NEWS! :woot:

Hey folks, Harry here... there's been some rumbles of some sort of **** over going on between Warner Bros and GET SMART creative geniuses Buck Henry and Mel Brooks. Something about them being furious at how little they were being offered, etc etc etc... BUT - Today - ink went to paper and cash went to banks - and Mel Brooks and Buck Henry have been officially signed on as creative consultants on the GET SMART movie with Steve Carrell and Anne Hathaway. In fact - Carrell has already shot one joke scene that Mel Brooks wrote for his character in this film. With more to come, apparently from both Mel and Buck.
This is, of course, very good news to all of us lovers of Control and the missions that Maxwell Smart and 99 go on.

Based on the 1965 Mel Brooks/Buck Henry-created series, Carell and Hathaway play spymasters Maxwell Smart and Agent 99, respectively - roles originaly played by the late Don Adams and Barbara Feldon, now 75.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Terence Stamp, Alan Arkin and Ken Davitian co-star

 Looks great! Looks like a great cast. Hmmm.....I wonder if Barbara Feldon will make a cameo.

Hopefully this won't be a disappointment like many movies based on old TV shows.

"Get Smart" Sequel Already Planned

Ftopel writes: "The "Get Smart" movie starring Steve Carell just began filming, but the writers already have a sequel in mind. Masi Oka and Nate Torrence have made such an impression as Bruce and Lloyd that they might get their own film. It's got a clever name too.

"Get SmartER right now," said Oka. "We don't know when we're shooting that. It's supposed to be August and September. It's whenever they get the script I guess and a director. The writers are very excited for out characters so they're inspired and they want to keep on polishing it and making it better."

Perhaps spinoff would be a better description of "Get Smarter." It takes place parallel to "Get Smart" and may even include part of "Get Smart" in the film. "The whole idea is 'Get Smart' the feature is kind of like 'Hamlet' and 'Get Smarter' is going to be 'Rosencranz and Guildenstern are Dead.' So to make it kind of a tie in, I know they're going to try to incorporate some footage from the actual feature into it so it looks like it's seeing what's leading up behind the scenes."

With Mel Brooks involved this movie can not suck. Its guarunteed.

I love the show. Now, I am not sold on this movie. Every recent attempt to make a show into a movie has failed miserably, so I don't have much confidence.

The difference is, most TV movies are dramatic shows that completely abandon the original premise and go overboard. This isn't a serious movie however, it is a comedy. Look at other old shows adapted as comedies...Starsky and Hutch and The Brady Bunch Movie were both great satire.

I love the cast, they even got the fat guy from Borat :D

anyone got a youtube link, that thing freezes on me :(

lol... that looks great, thanks mr brian

Not bad. Looking forward to the full trailer.

That show was hilarious. I can't wait for the movie. :woot:

Trailer wasn't laugh out loud funny, but the movie looks to be in the right direction.

Ha, Looks better than I could have anticipated based on that script review...

The movie seems a lot better now.

ahahaha Steve Carrol as maxwell smart, best choice of actor by far...
