You almost can't believe someone would actually try this but I guess the allure of potential fame is sometimes too strong for basic common sense. And apparently they have a 3-year old kid and she's pregnant with their second one. Looks like they haven't been making good decisions in multiple facets of their lives.

They thought a book would stop a .50 caliber pistol bullet fired from a foot away...that's a level of stupid that is inexcusable. In real life books aren't reliable bullet stoppers the way they are in films and tv shows.

So now we need IQ screenings for legal gun ownership?

Two years ago, I read a story about a dude near here who found a bulletproof vest at a surplus store. He put it on and asked his buddy to shoot him to see if it worked.

The guy shot him in the vest, and the dude was killed. They charged him with murder

There's a difference between doing wacky **** and just being stupid.

This is what happens when people get the majority of their information and knowledge about firearms from Steven Seagal movies.

when those kids get older and find out what happened to their father and the circumstances behind his death, how do you think they're going to look at their mother and what will they think of her THEN?...

You'd think I don't know they would try it on a dummy or a maniquin Jesus they're poor kids

All just to get views on youtube, damn shame.

According to either this article or another one I read, the BF said he'd shot another book with the same gun and it stopped the bullet. Only problems with that are the distance he likely shot it from is not the same one he had his GF shoot him at and it may not have been the same exact kind of book, which means the bullet would have penetrated differently.

Bad thing is they've already procreated (twice!) so the dumb gene from them will carry on for another generation.
