Heh, I know for sure someone already did a GR2 halloween costume( i remember reading about that in one of the older GR sites). Personally i always was really close to make one, but every year i stopped before finishing the skull.. I've never solved the flame problem. But some days ago i did it! (although only in theory, but i'm sure this is the best solution around...).
The jacket is quite the easiest part (i have a black leather jacket made with quite thick leather,my friends say it's like an armor :D, and i found that it was ideal to the job). I did the arms spikes with carboard covered with adesive mirror-like card, found in a office-things shop, and the bracelets also with cardboard covered in adesive black rubber. I had to make two rectangular thick cardboards covered in black adesive rubber to sustain better the spikes on the shoulders, because the shoulder straps were made in loose leather.
The spikes were in two measures, 6cm heigth 3 cm wide for arms and shoulders, 3 cm height 1,5 wide for the backhands and right knuckle-strap.
Boots and denim weren't a problem, they are easy to find(from biker style to more western like stile).
Now the skull. I have plenty of skull mask, but they are all generally too big.
But, some year ago i found a hollow rubber phosphorescent skull stuffed with padding that was:1)cheap 2)about the size of a real average human head, slightly bigger. Naturally i bought 2 or 3 of this. I already cut out the bottom of the skull, and even maked the jaw articulated. Now, by adding some elastic black tissue inside the mask, i can "talk" :D
The problem, as i said at first, was the flame. Most of people i think uses colored cotton-wool , but it bends with time, you need to "brush" it up often in position, and it's not very "natural" (although quite good in photos).
The solution came watching one of those fake-flame-lamp , you know, those lamp with a fan under a colored really light translucent tissue.
i guess 1/4 fans on the top of the skull could work(maybe thoose colored light fan that are used on transparent cases), maybe some adapted PC fan, with battery in the jacket. Alternatively could be used compressed air cans, with tubes going on the top of the head, but i don't think they can be hidden easily.
After all this personal rambling, do you have any links of GR halloween costumes?

Sounds like you have some great ideas for a costume of your very own but, to answer your question, yes I do have a link for you.

This one,

or this one
http://www.joke.co.uk/fancy_dress_costumes/Marvel__Heroes__Adult_Ghostrider_Costume.html

which features this costume

or you could take a visit here

Hope this helps.

I saw a better mask in a special occasions store near halloween. It was a full head skull mask with plastic fire burning out of the eye sockets.

That idea sounds awesome! I was Ghost Rider last year for Halloween, I bought the costume FlameHead posted, sure it was expensive just for the jacket and mask, but it looks pretty cool. But nobody knew who I was, I told them I was Ghost Rider, but everbody just called me Knight Rider. DAMN YOU David Hasselhoff!

I'll keep an eye out for it again this year and post a link to the website when I find it, so no one will have to wear that imbarrising excuse for Ghost Rider's head. The only problem with the mask was the the mask in the store had green flames, but they were still really cool.

Damn David, indeed!! Knight Rider my ass.

So, the mask actually looks good close up eh? Interesting. I'll keep an eye out for it... though I know it'll never be here in Newfoundland... of course, tha'ts what I said about Pearl Jam and they're comin' here.... I can't believe that. I really can't.

Anyway...

That one is pretty good, just use something different for the flames and it could be used in the movie. ;) I wouldn't mind having the jacket and gaunlets.

Yeah, the costume itself is pretty freakin' cool but the mask is too silly or something. I guess it's really hard to make a flaming skull mask though.

I wouldn't mind finding one of those costumes for this year's halloween... I could always buy it online I guess.

LAUGH OUT LOUD!

That's a japanese Otaku Cosplayer.. with a little twist of KISS i daresay...
:D

That'd be cool to dress up as GR for Halloween. It'd be something different from the usual costumes like Dracula, Frankensteins Monster, Etc.

I like that last costume, that's pretty neat.

I'd love to have a Ghost Rider costume. The only problem is, I'd probably add it too my regular rotation of clothing and not just use for Halloween.

Wait, that's not a problem...

I'd have to dress up as an out-of-shape, unemployed, been without a series in 4 years or a good one in 9 Ghost Rider. Although the drawing I made was good, dunno if it can transfer well into a costume.

Homemade costumes are always interesting. I'll be Thor this year using that muscle costume you see on line, and some of my own additions.
Years ago there was a VERY cool glow in the dark fullhead latex skull mask I used with a black leather jacket. Wish I had a pic because under black lights that mask looked awesome.

I've always wanted to build a life size action figure of GR using a manaquin. If I ever find a ceramic skull and figure out a way to get propane to run through it with out killing myself I just may do it.

Please don't blow yourself up but if you ever do make that, I wanna see a pic.

The Thor costume sounds neat Vartha. Unfortunatly, I don't think I'll be able to take part in any Halloween activities this year due to having a run of Dracula that weekend but, at least I still get to dress up.

I'll only be going around with my kids in that outfit. I figure I could at least keep the candy thiefs at bay, with my Mjolnir prop in hand. :D
I was talking to a 40 year old lady friend, and she went trick or treating with a friend just for kicks. lol

Why the hell not eh? I'd love to go out TorTin' again and probably would if I had a kickass GR costume to wear.

hey guys,
It's that time of year again, halloween. And this year im going to a party as ghost rider. We all know of the cheesy ghost rider costume, with that silly looking half mask. But the point of this thread is for others on here, who plan to go as GR to show there costumes. If you don't have a GR costume, feel free to share costume making ideas.

I'll start:

Here i was thinking of using this as a mask....

Thease for the gloves...

and then of course i will add spikes to my leather coat and there ya go!

:ghost:

Just put on some biker stuff and light yourself on fire.

That'll be one wicked awesome costume!!!
:ghost:

Don't forget to ask someone to take your picture!

:yay:
