After the "...my head is on fire!" line from issue 2, I would say Blaze is the personality.
Once again Crains art was fantastic, lots more action. I am finding there is getting to be to many characters being introduced for a 6 issue mini unless there is going to be one hell of a battle royal at the end, it just seems that 3 issues is going to seem rushed now. Did anyone notice the flaming wheels missing?
A lot of flames seem to be missing, GR seems more....extinguished than I'm used too.
When GR breathed fire on Hoss, I suppose it was interesting to see, but I couldn't imagine reading an ongoing where that was one of his primary things he did.
GR definately appears to be Blaze when he's talking, I wonder if that will change before the end.
I thought #1 did a good job of retelling his past and seems to be progressing ok, but I didn't like what appeared to be subtle advocacy of communism in #3.
I'm pretty sure it's Blaze but it doesn't bother me as I thought it would.
Did anyone notice how they squeezed all those ads in the back of the book. Maybe Marvel got some complaints about the first two issues having to many ads. I thought this was an awesome move on Marvel's part. I noticed a lot more full page spreads in this one. All those colorfull ads were way to distracting.
I miss the old days of adds that were small, yellow, nothing but text and all fit on one page.
As much as I want this series, I'm not looking forward to picking up my 3 issues tomorrow.
I can't find any words to describe how f'n sweet this looks.
Wow. I love the level of detail Crain puts in his art. He's a brilliant artist.
I felt the same about Val Siemiekis' work on Lobo. He used to put everything and the kitchen sink in there. Lord knows how long it took him to draw some of those pages. It was insane.
If theres an ongoing I hope he stays around, thats beauty.
Definately need to pick up this issue for the cover
That is freakin' sweet man. I want a poster of it. In fact, I'd love to have a poster for all the covers of this mini so far. Crain is brilliant!
MM..where you been dude?
school cant be that bad ...or could it? heh
looks like the Kazaan and GR start throwing down in #5... can't wait!
Id say hes pissed
All that hard work with the site and all and he didnt get any free goodies from msj like some others did. very disheartening Im sure
Well, we're not sure if he got them or not actually. Plus, I can't see MM gettin' pissed over it and never return to the site. Sure, he may be dissapointed but he wouldn't do that... I don't think. He's busy I'd say.
Either way, whatever it is that's keepin' him away, he sure is missed.
Just finished issue 3. The writing's still darkly humourous, which is a winner in my book, and Crain's art is as amazing as ever. I don't like the floating skull though. It looks plain weird. Fire breath was cool, but I'm not so sure about the chains shooting out of his mouth.
P.S. Am I the only one who fancies Miss Catmint?
this is the guy who wrote the preacher we're talkin about here
you can expect certain things.
Well, finally had a chance to pick up Iss 3 yesterday and had a read of it. I still love the book so far and Crain's work is just amazing... though I do have a few complaints. I really don't understand the floating head. Why does he not have a spinal column? I'm not sure why I didn't notice this in the previous issues but you can certainly tell in some of the shots of this one that there is no neck. Looks silly, in my opinion.
With regards to the flames and the chains from the mouth, I really enjoyed the flame breath. I thought it to be a great addition to Ghost Riders powers and loved the line "You don't spend 2 years in hell without picking up a few new tricks". I thought this explained his new powers quite nicely... however, I really hate the chains. It just doesn't make sense that he can project those things from his mouth. It's just silly and looks dumb. Not a fan of that at all. New tricks learned in hell or not, just dumb.
Also, did anyone else get a page that wasn't black or colored? Page 3 had white borders and I found it really took me away from the experience. I know I'm nitpickin' now but I had to see if it was just my comic or all of them that were like that. I assume it's all of them.
All in all, great read. I love the work that's goin' on and I really hope it continues past the next 3.
I think this one's my new fav.
Cool. Very Christmas-y!
What the Dickens IS that thing he's holding? It's on Marvel's wallpaper too. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
It's a Maul, i think: a mace without spikes.
(third one from left)
It seems that in this miniserie he can create it when necessary.
Still, i like more the old multipurpose chain...
Er, i don't really think falling ashes make jolly xmas
Very cool lightning here, and that front wheel without spokes...and beautiful chrome reflexes..neat.
The cover reminded me of that pic.
