Ghost Rider: The Game(s)

He seems to be a lot more buff in the game than in the comics

Apparently in M:UA you can create and name your own team of characters. So far I've seen Ghost Rider, Dr. Strange and Blade. I will of course make "The Midnight Sons" team. I wander if Morbius and Blaze will be unlocked. If Blackheart is playable I will probably add him to my team even though he wouldn't really fit in with the other guys lol. Maybe Vengence is unlockable also. There are a number of different skins to unlock for each character so maybe Ghost Rider will have a Vengence skin. Each new skin adds new moves and powers.

Sorry, but I just found out something else about the game that I didn't know. Each character will have a "flashback mission". Like Spidey vs Goblin, Wolvie vs Sabretooth, Cap vs Skull, DD vs Fisk. Who do you want Ghost Rider's flashback battle be against?

Curly/Crash Simpson, of course!

Actually in some preview i read that the flashback missions allows the player either to control the hero's personal bad guy or the hero against him. In the case of GR it was said in the preview that the villain was BlackHeart. So either you control BH against GR or the opposite...Maybe both?

From the new marvel.com blog from Marvel:

God of War meets Road Rash! ( Now that just got me excited.)

Welcome to my first Marvel.com blog entry. I thought I’d open up by introducing you all to my role in the company. I run Marvel’s video game business. I work day to day with our game publisher and developer partners in managing and shaping our creative and business strategy on all of the Marvel video games. Given e3 just wrapped up 2 weeks ago, I thought I would share with you how things went from the Marvel POV. In all we had 4 games featured on the show floor.

Our newest partner, 2K Games showed off the Ghost Rider game which is based on the Sony-Columbia Pictures feature film which will be released in February 2007. The game features a combination of motorcycle combat and 3rd person action gameplay. The gamplay experience is like “God Of War” meets “Road Rash”. It was well received at the show and I am really excited about this movie and the game. The second game featured was Konami’s Marvel trading card game. Coming off their success with “Yu-Gi-Oh”, Konami was the perfect choice to take on this interactive version of the widely successful Upper Deck “Marvel Vs.” trading card game. Truth be told, I have never played any of the popular trading card games (“Vs”, “Yu-Gi-Oh”, “Magic The Gathering”), but there is no denying their popularity and appeal. Konami is releasing the game on Nintendo DS, PSP and PC this holiday.

Lastly, our good friends at Activision were showing off the epic Marvel Action-RPG “Ultimate Alliance” at their booth in addition to a teaser video of the forthcoming Spider-Man 3 game. I couldn’t be more proud of “Ultimate Alliance” and the reception it got at the show from colleagues in the industry, major retailers as well as the press. We received numerous “Best Of Show” awards from such notable outlets as 1UP.com, Gamespot and The New York Times. The game is the biggest super-hero game ever with over 20 of the top Marvel characters fully playable. It’s going to blow you away when it’s released current, next-gen and handheld platforms this holiday.

If it's comparable to God of War, that's a ruddy good thing in my book.

That sounds to me like there'll be lots of chain swinging combat. Hope you can punch and throw as well.

looks like a highway in hell...that dude was having some problems making GR jump that gap...heh.
hoping someone will post more clips of GR fighting in that carnival setting

Damn that looked evilishly fun but too short of a clip for any real idea of how great this game could be.

More then makes up for that "Fan Film" blunder

You're now forgiven in my book and can be saved from the Penance Stare

Didn't see that site before and am not sure if it was posted here yet or not. I know the same screencaps here are there but, I'm not sure if the flash version on the site was talked about. Pretty neat, regardless.

The reason why I went there, btw, is because of the Namor voice casting news on the front page, which then made me think about who's voiceing Ghost Rider and whether or not he'll have a casting call. Now THAT would be the **** folks.

I am thinkin' about sending something in for Namor in the meantime... if it's open to Canadians. Gonna check it out now...

I think the casting are only for non playing characters. There is already some screenshots where Jean Grey is the Pc controlled enemy, and one of the levels is under the sea, so i think Namor should be the guiding or adversary npc of that location....urg, so this would mean we will have the opportunity to beat the crap of Hulk with GR?:D:ghost::ghost::ghost::ghost:

I suppose it is... Looks like it is about a Ghost Rider character done for MUGEN, which is a customizable fighting game engine.

It's called MUGEN? What's it for? What do you need to make Ghost Rider?

MUGEN is an open-source fighting game engine. One of those things that has a small collection of ravenous users/fans who produce some amazing works.

I believe someone used the engine to make a game based off of Les Miserables. No kidding.
