REALLY trying to get the Stranger Things / IT crowd eh? Why not just cast Winona Ryder to play the single mom character while you're at it? :o

To be fair, it kinda helps that he sorta looks like a young Jason Reitman.

How utterly predictable.

Nah lazy would be if it turns out he’s the son of one of the original Ghostbusters.

I always wanted to see this kid in a movie. He just has no exposure whatsoever.

:o

I had read that the focus will be on teens but I thought it meant young adult teens like 17 or 18. Not that young

I already hate this movie.

My wife Carrie wouldn't listen to me.

Well right now hes 16 by the time this movie comes out he will we right in that range its not like hes 8 or 10 years old.

Finn's currently 16 though, so he's very close to that demographic.

16? Wow I still saw him as the kid from Stranger Things and thought he was still like 12 or 13 lol

he's a late bloomer or whatever.

It could have SO EASILY been folded into the classic Ghostbusters continuity, but they HAD to just do...whatever they did. It wasn't a bad film, but if you would have made the same movie, maybe with a little less of this, a little more of that (Holtzman, mainly), and then have Peter Venkman at the end or something, you then have your cake and you can eat it, too.

I always thought the easiest way to connect the 2016 film into the continuity was to have them buy the business or the rights to the name for their business, setting up a scene with the new team and the remaining originals.

Oh we started typecasting I see. Nice Hollywood. Utterly predictable.

I like it. It's also better than starting a new universe and polarizing the fanbase...also, man the drama when they were successful, then Venkman wanting to buy it back would be hilarious, and set up an awesome sequel...

She's 38 which makes her about 8 years to old to be one of their kids, and Wolfhard is 16 which also means he's too old for grandkid, and too young to be one of theirs, unless one of them had a really late in life kid (movie I get it). . . . . Oscar was born in 1988-1989 even for them to be connected to him somehow the ages seem off.

He could be a fan or neighbor though who stumbles on the new threat. Researches it on the net and comes up with contact info for the original busters.

I have lost what little interest I had in this now.

I don't know if the 2009 game has ANY continuity at all with the franchise, but there's a hand-written note in the firehouse that says something about "Uncle Egon" so maybe Carrie Coon is a niece?

fans were angry that Ray was not the daughter of Han or Luke. why am i suprised that everyone wants the new characters to be one big family. meh :hehe:

I don't think it's fair to say "everyone wants" the new characters to be family members. Some of us don't care one way or the other, but there's a lot of speculation that they might be.

And honestly, fans (or just people in general) are going to be angry about something no matter what. "Rey isn't a Skywalker, Finn Wolfhard is in too many things I like, there's too many women Ghostbusters, there's too many MEN Ghostbusters!"

I mean seriously, it doesn't matter what Hollywood does, it's gonna upset/alienate a group of people. I try to give most movies the benefit of the doubt and reserve judgment until I've actually seen it.
