Don’t worry the extreme parts a separate spin off movie wont affect this one at all. But this does end on a sort of cliff hanger note cause folks who know Egon know that he’s not done yet.

Infact the extreme approach will have egon starting off solo like good old brucey from batman beyond it’s a very different approach for extreme Ghostbusters sure there’s humor but its quiet frank miller style as like to call it.

I had a dream about GB3 once, for some reason they were fighting a giant blob of Flubber.

1) The only way I would want it to happen is if it had happened right after GB2, if it was as good as GB1 (which would be impossible), and if it had Bill Murray (which would be impossible).

2) There's no way it'll happen, so these threads make me frustrated and sad. Even worse, if it ever did happen, it'd be a f***-ash "re-imagining" with Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller or some crap and would suck.

The only ways I would want to see GB3 is to do it like this:

1) Kill Venkman off in the first five minutes just to shut Bill Murray up - then build the plot of the movie from that.

2) Bring in a villain who isn't a Gozer knockoff. Real Ghostbusters had some seriously badass villains - give some of them a chance.

3) Put Winston front and center. It's like they put him in for the tokenness of it, and Ernie Hudson IS capable of much more.

4) DITCH SLIMER. The franchise died when it became all about him. Leave him in 1989 where he belongs.

I remember reading somewhere that Reitman wanted to do III, which would kill Peter Venkman and he would be a ghost that would be a nuisance to the Ghostbusters. The idea was good overall, but I would never want them to make it.

The first one is classic. The 2nd one is memerable. Let's leave it at that.

i remember reading something like that only it would end with a time paradox with peters ghost actually being slimer and going back to the first film

Belm, if they were to kill Venkman off in first 5 minutes, then Murray would be even less likely to do it. Think man, think.

If there was ever a third film made the actors would need to change their appearances a bit.

I think Bill murray looks like he hasn't aged much... only when he has a beard.

Dan could hit the gym, and get back into old ray shape in no time. He could grow a beard or big bushy mustache too.

Ramis... will be a problem. Damit that man looooooooooovvvess his twinkies. He could play stay-puft.

No, just kidding. It's a shame he plumped up so much. Just maybe, maybe he could get back into shape, but if not, I guess they could get it into the story that egon went on a twinky binge for a few years or something. It'll be funny.

Winston looks pretty much exactly the same as he did years ago; that hudson could strap on a proton pack right now and I'd hardly know he's over two decades older.

Make a Ghostbusters III for god's sake!

that's actually very very very strange.

i remember in that dream i had that during the whole fate of the planet ghost fight, everybody was like, "this is ripping off that Gozer fight!" and seriously, the 4 actors came to the rescue.


this is getting weird...


on the other hand, if it came down to getting another ghostbusters, i'd be all for a remake with only vince vaughn, owen wilson, and ben stiller for the roles rather than any crap comedy team around today. they are seriously the only ones i can see pulling it off. that is unless we can get a great original story for this.

while i liked some of the plot for GB3, there was a lot more that sounded like crap.

ever since i heard that the role of peter venkman was originally written for john belushi i havn't been able to watch it w/o realizing how much better it would have been. I just picture every line and action murray does being done by belushi. it's almost ruined the movie for me, though i still love it. for those who didn't know this, move on with this new found knowledge.

My brother was talking about this the other day. I didn't know they had originally planned to do a third one way back when. but then, I also really liked the second one and apparently it's considered to be bad. I had no idea untill recently. I just got the movies on dvd though, no more watching them on tv.
