We've known about this film being in development for some time. Now Paramount's staked a release date of August 10, 2012. Jon Chu is directing the film from a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Zombieland). Channing Tatum is expected to return, but it looks like the rest of the characters will be cut or recast entirely. (Not a bad thing.)
