Man Duke was always my favorite, then Deep-Six, Shipwreck and Torpedo....

Viggo would be a pretty good choice actually, although he's gotta have the buzz cut. It's Mr. Hausers trademark, like Cobra Commanders mask or Shipwrecks beard. The look is key. But I really think Viggo could pull it off quite well.

Like I said, he was my original choice but when I came across Anthony Michael Hall and thought about it for a minute I changed without hesitation. Hall just fits better into the dynamics of what I am trying to convey. Duke, could be a lot higher rank and more 'comfortable' but he likes the grunt work. He likes the smaller role.

Another reason I chose Hall. His age is close to what Duke's would and should be.

If my idea actually came to fruition and all 12 films were completed... there is an idea for the final piece... the final film to absolutely complete the series...
PART 13 - G.I. JOE:WARPED

Only extreme fanboys would stick it out for 12 films...and even then you'd have to recast nearly everyone in that time, probably completely do away with some characters. G.I.Joe doesn't have the staying power of say X-Men or Batman (or even Transformers) which gets 3 or 4 films at best. You're better off with a smaller introductory film (like X-Men) and then another which goes a little further with the material and story (like X2). This whole twelve, thirteen, fifty characters is ridiculous. You cannot do a film which just jumps between terrains and missions and different characters for each. You need something that has 4 or 5 characters throughout to focus on and build arcs off of.

Some of your casting seems inspired (like Duke)...but you have little handle on the story or how to make one off of this franchise. It's not something that can or will be a grandious as you feel it should be. The time it takes to build such a storyline takes years and years...even series like Transformers and X-Men (which have ensembles which rival LOTR and Star Wars combined) took years of reinvention and storytelling to turn into massive epics.

....you'd NEVER get the budget for that kind of a film. EVER. Either that or you'd have to shoot everyone to look like some kids indy high school project film. With Batman, okay now BATMAN (arguably the most recognised hero in modern literature) he got an option for 3 films and a POSSIBLE 4th. G.I.Joe would be lucky to get an optional second.

Fan basically voted for the cast/characters of the new Transformers movie and it already looks like they are turning their backs on it. Oh by the way, did you know Transformers would have been G.I.Joe...but Don Murphy and the producers felt TF was a more lucritive property.

Fans went online and listed their top 5 Decepticons and Autobots who they wanted in the film...that is online voting. And it still turned out like a piece of trash.

And fans are not casting directors. Furthermore actors have to SIGN onto a film, the studio doesn't make that decision for them. Russel Crowe turned down X-Men, so did Jim Cavezial.

I considered Pitt for Duke too but then I came up with something better...

Except the movie costumes weren't.

Or because the actors read the script and didn't like it...or because, and this was the case for most of those I listed, they had scheduling conflicts. Or because in Crowes case he did not want to do a Summer Blockbuster...it had nothing to do with wearing silly costumes.

Do we even need Mercer in a GI Joe film?? Maybe as cobra cannon fodder and thats about it.

As a former Cobra member who defects to the Joes, Mercer could make for a great subplot in a GI Joe movie.

You could actually set a whole movie up around his story if you wanted to, for example CC has some plot, Mercer finds out about it, defects to the Joes, and now its "is he really defecting or is he a mole".

He's not a vital character in terms of the mythos, but he has his use.

Since when is Shipwreck the highest ranking naval officer? Did he get a promotion ahead of...aw crap...whats the admiral that came the that giant boat???? Admiral Flagg??? Heck, as far as Im concerned Cutter shuld outrank him as well. Torpedo is a navy seal.

Besides, if youre including him due to rank, then what about Tunnel Rat??? He was the third highest ranking Joe...for awhile at least...i think they through another one or two ahead of him.


Oh and another thing...I dont care if theres 400 GI Joe movies, leave Cobra La out of it.
