Drunk students learn lesson from peeved giraffe
1.3-ton animal attacks three Lithuanians after they climb into his cage

VILNIUS, Lithuania - Climbing into a giraffe's cage at the local zoo seemed a good idea after a few drinks. But the prank went wrong when the 1.3-ton animal flew into a rage and attacked the three student trespassers at a zoo in Lithuania on Monday night.

Ruta Greiciute, a 22-year-old student at Kaunas Technology University, was hospitalized with a broken collar bone and nose after the 9-year-old male giraffe, named Solut, attacked her.

The other students survived the incident unscathed.

"This was a very silly thing they did. The scared giraffe could have stomped her to death," Kaunas Zoo spokeswoman Angele Grebliauskaite said.

The zoo reported that many animals had been disturbed Monday night as students celebrated a festival in a nearby condominium.

Police have launched an investigation to find out how the intoxicated students entered the zoo at night and climbed the 10 foot high fence surrounding the giraffe cage.

LS's Thoughts:

Well, apparently Ms. Ruta is a dumbass. :down Even if I was drunk I wouldn't grow balls large enough to climb no god-dayum Giraffe cage. I mean, call me a scaredy cat, but...it's a fricken wild animal. It's in a cage for a reason! Idiots....

Standing order #1: When drunk, don't **** with a big animal.

I hope that giraffe finds her in the hospital and finishes the job.

These kids today are doing some seriously stupid ****. I would never go near a wild animal in a cage in the freaking dark! Ever.

I wouldn't even engage in cow-tipping. :csad:

It's just funny, man...you see animals like giraffe and rabbits, that never make a sound, don't do anything aggressive, then bam. I swear I could not conceal my laughter if a saw a pissed giraffe....that neck flailing about.

Sometimes you hear stories of people being hurt and the only thing that you can think and feel is "yeah he deserved that."

Actually, giraffes have a reputation for being pretty mean. Marlin Perkins said so.

Yep, that's true. I've heard that the following animals are also extremely vicious, despite their decieving "docile" nature:

You know i the wild lions rarely attack giraffes and when they do it they attack in packs with often little chance of success. The Giraffe can use his neck like a weapon.

Those kids were pretty stupid to do that but they probably thought they could pet the giraffe and maybe take a ride on his back.

^It's all those picture books that paint the giraffe as a friendly creature.

Really? That's actually kinda cool. But how does it use the neck defensively? I'd think all the Lion would have to do is bite into its jugular, no?

First the lion has to actually jump high enough to get a bite on the jugular, and that's gonna be a problem. Especially since giraffes kick and bite in addition to swinging their necks around like a battering ram. Marlin Perkins said so.

 Since when have these 't'rds been deceivingly "docile"?

This may bother some people but the lion is not really the king of the jungle and there are many animals way more powerful like the african elephant.

i was expecting a you tube link of a giraffe ass kicking (or at least a humourous gif) :cmad:

That does bother me but I try not to think about it. :csad:
