Even on a show like Will & Grace, Jack was the stereotypical effeminate gay man, and he was the comic relief sidekick. Kurt might be the first stereotypical effeminate, campy, flamboyant gay man who's a main character who isn't treated like a punchline and is actually given probably the most serious dramatic plotlines of anyone. That's kind of a big deal.

The Duets stuff wasn't laughable and the upcoming stuff from them sounds rather serious, JP.

Oh, well, meh.

I see literally no difference in Rachel, Will, and Finn's plotlines this season. It's literally the same last season. The whole ''Will they or won't they?" deal? The whole Ross/Rachel deal, same thing they did with them last year.

DAMN THEE, THREAD MANAGER!

No way in hell am I typing my previous post all over again. It basically boiled down to "Sandy Ryerson was their outlet for negative or annoying portrayals of gay people on this show."

Can we make the thread named Glee III: This Time With More Autotune?

Thanks entirely to every solo Blaine has ever had

Chord Overstreet is autotoned at least as much as Darren Criss is.

I've seen video of Darren singing live, and he doesn't sound THAT different. Yes, he's finetuned, but so are most of them.

From his live shows, Darren's biggest problem is he works himself up too much and gets out of breath, which makes his voice sound shaky. He needs a singing or vocal coach to work with him to improve his breathing control, more than he needs autotone.

They even autotone Lea Michelle sometimes, whether she needs it or not.

I can't remember listening to one song by Criss that wasn't autotuned. It bothered the living hell out of me in "Bills Bills Bills" because I can hear that he doesn't really need it.

As for Overstreet... god I'd have to pay attention to him to know if he's getting autotuned. I literally stop paying attention to the show when he's on. When he and She Who Ruins Classic Soul did that opening song for sectionals in "Special Education," I got up and made a sandwich.

"Glee 3.0"

Pronounced "Glee Three Pee Oh" :)

I feel that way about Criss. He's talented, but he's better for stage. He overdoes EVERYTHING.

He's the show's male Lea Michele.

Acting-wise, I think Darren is more understated than Lea. In the Valentine's Day episode, you can tell he's not as good of an actor as Chris Colfer (which most of them aren't), but he didn't seem a "bad" actor either.

Give Darren and Lea a song, and they both get a little....excited. Their facial expressions are...interesting.

Really? The ''ECK don't they have anything without hearts on them?" was way oversold as well as the ''You know my coffee order." at the end of the Valentine's Day episode.

That first line you mention was overdone, but overall I thought he was okay. Not spectacular, but okay at least.

Mark Salling's whole "none of you care about me!" in Never Been Kissed was shaky too, IMO.

Darren isn't meant for stage. His voice can't handle it in every video I've seen.. unless he's sitting down and singing something simple.

His Teenage Dream with Katy Perry was a mess.

I meant his acting more than his singing to be honest.

To be honest, I enjoy his voice just as much as I do Chord and Mark's. The only guys on this show I've really thought had OHMUHGUDINAWHOLEOTHERLEVEL voices are Matthew Morrison, Johnathan Groff, and Chris Colfer.

No cool introduction to the thread about what Glee is? :(

"Glee is an America musical comedy-drama television series on Fox which airs on Tuesdays at 8 pm"

And that's what you missed, on GLEE!
