You know, for JW's, it's literally considered their job by their religion to spread the word. They don't do it because they WANT to be jerks, they do it because they're told to be jerks.

Agreed.

I've encountered those nice people dozens of times and they've always made it crystal clear that they are not selling anything. JW's offer their literature free of charge, although they accept voluntary donations if you want to give one. The donations enable them to preach in other countries.

But the key word is it's voluntary--it's not mandatory. In fact, even at their churches they don't pass the collection plate, so I declare them awesome....

Hmmmm. Perhaps you were speaking to the Mormans or some other faith?

JW's have no price list for their literature. That's actually been part of the key to their success with their congregations: they don't fleece their flocks, which is a lot more than I can say for 99.9% of Christian churches I've been in. I have some of the JW literature. Every piece I have clearly says that there is no charge for the literature. I just checked.
