Action-Adventure Godzilla Minus One

So, turns out, we are getting a western release of this set. Godzilla.com exclusive. The movie discs has english menus and subtitles. However, a big caveat, the 4th disc, with all the special features, is all japanese. And near as I can tell, only the movies are subbed, so the special features on the main discs don't have english subs either. So, somewhat torn on this release.

But, with a september release, hopefully a less slappeddash release is soon.

That is true...the set surprisingly has English subtitle but like you stated, only the movie disc has the sub...the special features do not have it. (Granted the features only featured the making of, the vfx making, and countless of premiere and red carpet footages)

But if you're a godzilla fan and a collector, I can say that the set is worth your money, the packaging art is truly beautiful 😀

This was really really good, probably my favourite Godzilla film, granted not seen many of them but this felt like a fresh and new take on something thats been done many a time. Great performances, some really great action pieces and epic moments and also some nice clever moments for the way they try to deal with Godzilla.

Actual US releases, though much more bare than the Japanese Collector's Edition. Though, if the specials have no subtitles, does it really count as being able to watch them?

Anyway, the big drawback is that it doesn't have Minus Color. So, that means I will be double dipping on Minus One, which, I will be honest, I am not mad about. As is, I will likely have to rebuy Shin Godzilla Orthochromatic anyway.

I missed the boat on the Japanese collector's edition. I hope it goes back up because while I love Minus One, I'd also love to see Minus Color- and this version not having it isn't a 100 percent deal breaker, but like you said....might have to double dip. But is it really an issue for a film as great as this one.

Am I the only one just not interested in seeing Black and White versions of modern movies?

Especially well made ones such as this.

Personally I can see why it might interest some but I'm not much of a fan myself. Given that the story takes place in the '40s and to envoke the feeling of a movie from that era, Minus One having a black and white version makes more sense to me than something like Fury Road in black and white.

If it is the godzilla day bonus, got a feeling I know what it is.

Was just about to post this!

I still need to find a way to get Minus One (that includes Minus Color). Anyone have any leads?

Godzilla.com has the Japanese collectors edition up for pre-order again. It does have Minus Color with subs. Issue is that the disc with all the bonus features has no subs. Otherwise, you are probably going to be waiting for a separate Minus Color release.

I can live with no subtitles, especially for a version not originally released here. Thanks.

Both movies have subs, its just the special features that don't.
Yeah, that's not a problem. Would it be nice to know what's said on the special features? Sure. But if I have to pick between that and the films being subtitled, I'll go with the films.

Enjoyed this even more 2nd time. A truly excellent movie that is epic, dramatic, emotional and thrilling all during its 2 hour run time.

I can't wait for Godzilla Zero (if that's what they call it?).
