Next film concerns magical water.

UK, June 19, 2008 - Be Kind, Rewind helmer Michel Gondry has revealed that his next project is likely to be Return of The Ice Kid, based on his own forthcoming graphic novel.

The French director exclusively told IGN "I just wrote the comic book, so we have the subject matter and draft ready. It was a side project but I'm slowly moving towards it as my next film.

"It's going to be set at M.I.T in Boston. I've been there a couple of times as an artist in residence and the people who attend the school are really interesting, and they like my films."

The premise sounds typically Gondry-esque, dealing with students who invent a form of water that makes you hear music when you drink it.

Gondry confirmed that this is not Mega Mania, the film and comic book he has been working on with his son Paul, although that is still in the offing.

And he also revealed that his proposed adaptation of Rudy Rucker's novel Master of Space and Time has been shelved for budgetary reasons, although he hasn't given up hope of it happening sometime in the future.

Something about the quirkiness of this appeals to me. :woot:

gondry is a genius, for sure. i don't care what he makes, i'll probably end up seeing it.
