Well, if you don't mind a sci-fi twist and something a bit further up the food chain than vampires, then you might want to give Trinity Blood a go (although that's fairly hit-and-miss when it comes down to it; I love it, but some other people absolutely loathe it).
Hellsing Ultimate is a pretty good one, and I believe Ghost Hunt is coming out soon (or is already out... bloody Yanks).
Boogie pop is pretty good. Cheesy looking, but good. D Gray Man is more of an epic, but made out of horror based principles (i.e. exorcists, vampire, demons, ghosts, and what not).
DEVILMAN is a classic, although some may call it akin to a demonic superhero story.
There is also DEMON CITY SHINJUKU I guess.
A while back I rented a series from Blockbuster called LITTLE PET SHOP OF HORRORS, or something like that. It was almost like a Twilight Zone sort of show.
