I read an article in the L.A.times about Corey Feldman today which suggested a sequel to Goonies has actually been discussed. If it actually happens it is still a ways off acording to the article.

I can't imagine how this would work now that they're all adults, and maybe Corey's just making stuff up now to get into the paper(although that was not the focal point of the article) but I thought it was interesting.

This isn't a case of Feldman starting rumours. Ideas for a sequel have been discussed but nothing worthwhile. I think it could work as an adult adventure but maybe it's better left alone.

Don't know how long ago, but not so recent I think:

These are more recent:

I can see it being a sequel, but not a prequel using different kids.
I could see it being about something bringing them all back together.
Almost like a reunion, and they all go on another adventure.

Jesus Feldman looks a bit like Bale nowadays.

Chunk sure doesn't look chunky anymore.

Where's Rosalita?

How would a complete adult cast try to emulate at all a child's adventure film from the 1980s. I think if there is a new film, they should be either the offspring of the main cast, or a new set of kids.

What was Chunk's real name in the original anyways?

And if this rumor had surfaced in 2004 or 2005, I doubt that Josh Brolin would have done it, but with the recent resurrection of his career (critical acclaim in "No Country for Old Men" and "Milk"), he'd probably be open to it now.

I'd rather see the original cast than some new actors recast as the original characters.
But their offspring I don't know. I don't think I would like that either but maybe...

A new set of kids might not be so great either, then again...

Don't do a sequel with them. It's too damn late. They could of done it in the 80's where they were still young. Now it will be the adventure for the paycheck.

Jesus the actress who played the redheaded cheerleader is still smoking hot. And Chunk lost the weight. Some of them aren't even recognizeable.

Also, many people know Sean Astin mainly from Lord of The Rings and Josh Brolin from his recent work and as the husband of Diane Lane.

IMO, Brolin is a bad ass actor.

Hopefully Marvels Runaways movie will be todays generations Goonies if its done well.

I think it would be too hard to create the same dynamic. Chunk couldn't even be chunk anymore.

Atleast they're not talking about a remake.

Thank god . I kind of see this movie as a time capsule , reminds me of my childhood. Not the occurances of the movie , just watching it.

Editor's Note: This is all a big joke. No facts here.

I wonder if they'll give Sloth a Routh superman shirt this time around.
