Guardians of the Galaxy GOTGv2 After/Mid Credits Scene

So up until now the Guardians have pretty much existed on their own. In fact, I think they're the only MCU main characters to appear in 2 stand alones before tying in with the larger universe by appearing in someone else's film. Even their last after credit scene, though entertaining, didn't tie to the rest of the MCU the way other movies did. This one should be different.

Gunn has said no Thanos. So what do we think is going to happen?

Black Panther tie-in?
Stand-alone again?
Lead in to Thor 3 with Hela?

Something to do with the Infinity Stone I'm guessing. Black Panther and Thor seem to fit with that.

I'd be very surprised if they put something like that in a post-credits scene.

The last 3 MCU movies have had 1 scene with a tease of a future movie and another serving as an epilogue to the movie itself.

I expect that to continue. For the epilogue scene I have no clue, but for the tease, yes, I expect a Thanos tease. Notwithstanding what the director said -- I think Marvel will start to gear up the hype now. But probably directed by the Russos and not Gunn.

Spider-Man is a bigger question -- if the trend continues -- what future movie would they tease for that one?

perhaps Cap sneaking in to talk to Peter. Maybe as a IWs set up.

I don't really see any way for Spider-Man to set up Black Panther or an Ant-Man.

I wouldn't put it past GOTG 2 to not tie to future movies. Keep in mind the original plan was to have two scenes for the first movie - the first with baby Groot, the second with the Collector. They ended up moving the first scene to before the credits.

However, if they do have two scenes, my thought is they'd have a scene with the Collector meeting the Grand Master. The Grandmaster tells him about his latest fighter - the camera pans to reveal the Hulk.

I know I know Gunn said no Thanos but what about something at Nova Corp. They don't have to show Thanos but they could make mention of an Army building and headed towards Terra or rumblings in Asgard.

Or maybe what Mike said but showing the Hulk being taken by The Grandmaster.

What are the odds this movie changes the location of the Power Stone?

I like that idea, I'd love to catch our first glimpse of Jeff freaking Goldblum as the Grandmaster in a mid-credits scene, just like how we first met the Collector in the mid-credits for Thor 2. It would help establish a connection between the two characters prior to IW too.

I could see something that sets up the Guardians in Infinity War and then either something for a third film or a Ragnarok tease.

Something tells me it won't be a Ragnarok setup since we just got one in Doctor Strange and there'll probably be a trailer for Ragnarok attached to this anyway. I think it'll either have to do with Infinity War or directly relate to GOTG2, much like the first movie.

I could see Rocket convincing them to go watch the 'fights', and then a cut to the Grandmaster introducing his newest fighter, and we get some shadowy entrance of hulk where you don't get to see all of him, but maybe a green hand holding a sword coming out of the tunnel and then cut to black.

I think the mid-credits scene will tease GOTG 3 in some way, while the post-credits scene will tease Avengers 3 and 4.

I want to see Howard the Duck again. Use the credits as his own little series. I don't need teases for future movies because I'll probably see them regardless.
